Foyle’s War star Honeysuckle Weeks accuses Jerry Hall’s niece of being her late husband’s mistress

Foyle's War star Honeysuckle Weeks accuses Jerry Hall's niece of being her late husband's mistress

As I read through this piece, it strikes me that there is quite a mix of events and personalities here, all from the British Isles. It seems like a typical day in the life of the English countryside, with chimney fires at the local pubs and rumors of diplomatic appointments swirling around.

Graceful and commanding, she garnered praise and affection for her portrayal of Samantha ‘Sam’ Stewart in Foyle’s War. She graced every episode of Anthony Horowitz’s acclaimed ITV series, but her illustrious career took a downturn as her tumultuous marriage crumbled.

After parting ways with her husband, the dashing but worldly Lorne Stormonth Darling, and spending 18 months working as a dishwasher, which she described as a humbling experience, Honeysuckle Weeks made a triumphant return to the public eye last year. She discarded her reservations and even some of her clothes in a theatrical adaptation of Calendar Girls, where she appeared on stage.

Refreshed and vibrant, the 45-year-old actress appears to be gearing up for another fight, this time a deeply personal one. She has chosen to expose on social media the woman whom she alleges was her husband’s lover.

The surprising part is that the person involved turns out to be Daphne Hall, who Weeks claims is none other than the niece of the legendary Texas model Jerry Hall and the daughter of Jerry’s late, equally stunning sister, Rosy Hall. At 19 years old, Rosy was among the original cheerleaders for the Dallas Cowboys.

In 2007, Weeks got married to Stormonth Darling. She recounts an incident where she was initially invited to a barbecue by Jerry, but later found out that her niece Daphne had forbidden her attendance. She asserted, “Daphne was my husband’s mistress,” adding directly: ‘Daphne forbade me from going.’

It’s understandable that Daphne captures a man’s attention. She embodies the same graceful elegance as her mother and aunt, and she isn’t confined by traditional norms. The father of her children, with whom she has drifted apart, is Roc Sandford, who splits his time between London and his own secluded Hebridean island, Gometra.

Born to filmmaker Jeremy Sandford, a former Etonian, who resided in a Jacobean manor in Herefordshire that fostered nudist meditation and Dervish dancing, Roc is a passionate environmental activist. Similarly, his children by Daphne share this eco-consciousness – Lachlan Blaze, or ‘Lazer’, and Isla Bluebell, often referred to as ‘Blue’ but also likened to the young Swedish climate advocate Greta Thunberg of Britain.

In an effort to prevent the construction of the high-speed rail (HS2) in 2021, they decided to live underground, specifically 15ft below ground in a tunnel near London’s Euston station. For several weeks, they defied eviction attempts by the contractors’ bailiffs who were trying to remove them.

At that point, unbeknownst to them, the man who was said to be their mother’s lover, Stormonth-Darling, had merely two more years left on his life.

2019 saw Honeysuckle bidding farewell to her marriage to Lorne in a distinctive way, as she uploaded a poignant photo on social media. The image featured a sign bearing their initials, L&H, alongside hearts ablaze within a bonfire, accompanied by the caption: ‘Adieu, matrimony’.

Last year, Stormonth Darling passed away at the age of 60. His father, Robin, was a highly respected chairman of a City stockbroking firm, in stark contrast to the lifestyle of Daphne and Roc, who raised Lazer and Blue on Gometra without cars, electricity, or heated water.

Contrarily, the Stormonth Darlings are the proud owners of Balvarran, an expansive 2,500-acre property situated in Perthshire. It’s plausible that Daphne and her offspring envisioned this estate as a tranquil New Age sanctuary, reminiscent of the kind Blue and Lazer’s grandfather built in Herefordshire, but with added instruction on environmental activism to create a more impactful movement.

It seems that Daphne was unreachable for a statement, but it’s clear she’s been active: her property located in north-west London, which was purchased for £715,000 in 2010 by what appears to be a family trust with her aunt Jerry among the members, is now being marketed for sale.

People living nearby mention that it has been vacant for several weeks. Meanwhile, another residence situated on the very same street is up for sale at a whopping £1.7 million. This amount could potentially cover the cost of acquiring advanced drilling machinery, should Honeysuckle decide to unleash something more potent than a social media blast…

Prince’s gift to jet set island

It’s evident that Prince William intends to preserve his connections with Mustique, a tropical paradise often frequented by the affluent and influential in the Caribbean region.

It’s said that the future monarch has contributed £10,000 to charitable initiatives on an idyllic private island, a place that has been cherished by the high society since it was purchased in the 1960s by Lord Glenconner. Notably, he also gifted a ten-acre plot there as a wedding present to Princess Margaret.

Recently disclosed documents indicate that William, through his Broad Cairn Foundation, facilitated a substantial charitable contribution, funneled by The UK Friends of Mustique Charitable Trust, an organization headquartered in Tetbury, not far from King Charles’s residence, Highgrove, in Gloucestershire.

The Royal couple, the Prince and Princess of Wales, have frequently spent their vacations on the island of Mustique, a place residing alongside notable figures such as musicians Sir Mick Jagger and Bryan Adams, along with renowned U.S. fashion designer Tommy Hilfiger.

William and Catherine have previously visited Villa Hibiscus, which belongs to John and Belle Robinson, former partners and proprietors of the Jigsaw fashion brand, who are friends of the princess’s family. Additionally, they have stayed at Villa Aurora, a property owned by Mark Cecil, a wealthy hedge fund investor and acquaintance of Catherine’s parents, Michael and Carole Middleton.

In the year 2015, Catherine and William spent time at Villa Rocina, a property belonging to Violera Alvarez, a wealthy Venezuelan woman who was present at their wedding and shares a strong bond with the Middleton family.

For several years, Princess Margaret held title to Les Jolies Eaux, a villa on Mustique. Eventually, she passed this property onto her sole son, David, the 2nd Earl of Snowdon. Later on, he chose to sell it.

The closure of Princess Diana’s beloved restaurant

It was disappointing news, likely disheartening to Princess Diana and perplexing to my respected predecessor Nigel Dempster, as Launceston Place restaurant will be shutting down.

Diana frequently visited the low-key restaurant in Kensington, which happened to be a favorite spot for the 1st Earl of Snowdon, known for his social engagements with his female companions, as he resided in close proximity.

After careful consideration and following Chef Patron Ben Murphy’s departure, D&D London has chosen to shut down Launceston Place in Kensington by the end of this month. They are currently evaluating potential strategies for the future direction of the business.

As the 2022 National Chef of the Year, I find myself embarking on a fresh journey, marking the beginning of a new phase in my career, following seven fulfilling years at the eatery nestled by Kensington Palace.

At Launceston Place, renowned for its traditional British cuisine, they created a signature dish in honor of their most distinguished guest, affectionately named the “Diana Soufflé”. During the filming of Netflix’s popular series, The Crown, where Elizabeth Debicki portrayed Diana, scenes were shot outside this very restaurant.

Coo dares wins… it’s Granny Anth!

Television explorer Ant Middleton faced criticism for allegedly being disrespectful towards Anthea Turner, referring to her as “grandma” during the show Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins, which sparked discussions about his behavior being seen as both sexist and ageist.

It has just been revealed that Anthea, who is 64 years old, will soon be a grandmother, since her stepdaughter is due to give birth in February.

The ex-Blue Peter presenter is thrilled to confirm that Claudia is welcoming a baby boy into the world.

‘We’re all very excited. I don’t know what I’ll be called. ‘Granny Anth’ maybe…’

Claudia is the daughter from a previous marriage of Anthea’s ex-husband, Grant Bovey. Despite this, Claudia and her two sisters have managed to maintain a strong relationship with Anthea.

This past week, I found myself on high alert, particularly in the captivating region of Cotswolds, as flames erupted from a chimney at The Bell in Charlbury – an establishment esteemed for being owned by the visionary behind Daylesford Organic, Carole Bamford.

Fire crews removed a ventilation fan found inside the chimney.

Lady Bamford is married to billionaire JCB owner Lord Bamford.

Rival pub The Bull – which is frequented by the ‘Chipping Norton set’ – also had a chimney fire last week.

It’s time to make Petula a Dame, says pal Bourne

In anticipation of her 92nd birthday celebration, it’s suggested that Petula Clark could also be eagerly waiting for the honor of being made a Dame, according to renowned choreographer Sir Matthew Bourne.

The performer, who is also an actress, kick-started her exceptional journey in the spotlight by amusing soldiers during World War II. Later, she went on to outstrip sales of over 68 million records, among which Downtown became a timeless hit.

Bourne shares that he collaborated with her when she was 91, during the production of Mary Poppins, and she was giving eight performances each week. Remarkably, she has been entertaining audiences for over 80 years,” (paraphrased)

‘Why she is not a Dame, I do not know. She’s brilliant.’

unfortunate development for Lord Alli, a significant supporter of the Labour Party, and his associate Baroness (Valerie) Amos; she had been viewed as a potential British envoy to Washington, but recent events may have affected her prospects.

It seems there’s been an ongoing dispute about Labour aides supporting the U.S. presidential election, which has reportedly made it more difficult to choose a new ambassador.

As a keen observer, I’ve picked up on a surprising twist in the politics surrounding Anglo-American ties, which might complicate the process of appointing a party representative. If this comes to pass, it appears that the role could default back to a seasoned diplomat, as per usual tradition.

Sir Humphrey may be about to win again.

Don’t stop me now… Queen star’s jig with his daughters

Was this an audition, a rehearsal – or a performance?

Regardless of the situation, at the age of 75, Queen’s drummer, Roger Taylor, tried his utmost to match the speed of his daughters, Tigerlily, Lola, and Rory.

In her post accompanying a video she shared online, Tigerlily, aged 30 and a model, wrote that she spent the previous night wandering around Soho with some unusual individuals.

Her sister Lola, who is 24 years old and an actress, as well as her half-sister Rory, aged 38 and a general practitioner, both welcomed their stepbrother’s comment warmly, being among the drummer’s two children from his first marriage with Dominique.

Let’s all join in…’You have dirt on your face/ You’re quite a shame/ Rolling your container everywhere/ Crooning/We will, we will make you rock/ We will, we will make you rock.’
