Rose Ayling-Ellis looks downcast filming at a police station for her leading role in ITV’s Code of Silence
As a lifestyle expert with a keen eye for talent and a deep appreciation for authenticity, I am genuinely thrilled to see Rose Ayling-Ellis stepping into her next big role. Her journey since winning Strictly Come Dancing in 2021 has been nothing short of inspiring, and it’s a testament to her resilience and talent that she continues to break barriers in the entertainment industry.
On a somber note, Rose Ayling-Ellis exited a police station on Friday, still engaged in shooting scenes for her main role in ITV’s Code of Silence.
The actress, aged 29, is getting ready to amaze spectators with her debut major role following her victory on Strictly Come Dancing in 2021, partnered with Giovanni Pernice.
The well-liked character from EastEnders seemed distressed, as she was photographed both upon arrival and departure at a police station on the show’s set in London.
Rose donned a striped white and blue jumper with denim, and carried a khaki jacket in her hand.
The celebrity from television paused outside the train station, lost in contemplation as she wore a thoughtful, introspective look on her face.
Filming started in London last week, where the main actress was photographed getting hit by a car for an innovative leading part in the upcoming six-episode crime drama.
In a fresh role, the actress portrays Rose, a deaf woman born without hearing abilities. She takes on the character of a catering employee who turns into a brave figure by deciphering criminals’ speech through reading lips, ultimately helping to incarcerate them.
According to ITV’s summary, she is finding it tough financially, working at both a police station cafeteria and a neighborhood bar, all the while trying her hardest to help her hearing-impaired mother.
When a woman is asked by a police officer to interpret lip movements during interactions with dangerous suspects, she finds herself immersed in an exciting, novel experience.
Rose will star alongside Kieron Moore, Charlotte Ritchie and Andrew Buchan.
And ITV, Mammoth Screen and BritBox announced on Wednesday that filming has officially begun.
Lead director Diarmuid Goggins (Kin, Black Cab, Witness No. 3) brings Code of Silence to life.
It is told through the point of view of Alison Brooks (Rose), a Deaf canteen worker.
Alison finds it tough to balance her finances, working at both a police station cafeteria and a neighborhood bar, all the while striving to assist her hearing-impaired mom, Julie (Fifi Garfield), in her daily life.
I can hardly contain my excitement as the moments tick by, for I know it’s not far off before Alison is enveloped in a thrilling undercover police operation. DS Ashleigh Francis (Charlotte Ritchie) has requested that I utilize my exceptional lip-reading abilities to keep tabs on a treacherous criminal syndicate. The adrenaline is already pumping!
As Alison’s understanding of their secret discussions takes center stage in the probe, she finds herself swept up in a thrilling, unexplored realm.
Her part swiftly turns crucial for solving the police mystery, yet her emotions get tangled as she feels inexplicably attracted to one of the suspects, Liam Bayne, portrayed by Kieron Moore.
Despite knowing the risks and the growing threat to her personal life, Alison can’t let go.
In a new development, this six-part drama marks Rose’s significant return to acting following her victory on Strictly in 2021, partnered with Giovanni. However, it’s worth noting that Giovanni recently left Dancing with the Stars (the equivalent of Strictly) due to accusations of bullying, which he has refuted.
Additionally, they were honored with the ‘unmissable moment’ award at the BAFTAs for their captivating silent dance performance synchronized with Clean Bandit’s hit song, “Symphony.
She left EastEnders in 2022, after playing deaf character Frankie Lewis for two years.
This year, she received an MBE during the Queen’s Birthday Honors, recognizing her selfless contributions to the deaf community through volunteer work.
Code of Silence will premiere in 2025 on ITV1 and will be available for streaming on ITVX.
