It’s official: League of Legends Worlds 2025 will be held in China
As a hardcore League of Legends fan with years of esports experience under my belt, I can hardly contain my excitement! Once again, China is set to host the LoL Worlds 2025 championship, just like they did in 2017 and 2020. The energy, the competition, the thrill – it’s all coming back!
In 2025, just like in the years 2017 and 2020, China will host the League of Legends (LoL) Worlds Championship. Is your excitement building up already?
As a passionate fan, I’m thrilled to share that Riot Games and OPPO, a renowned Chinese smartphone manufacturer, have extended their partnership for another year of League of Legends Worlds (LoL Worlds). This exciting news was officially announced as the LoL Worlds 2024 draws to a close on November 2nd.
In line with their ongoing commitment, OPPO maintains its role as the worldwide sponsor of the prestigious MVP awards for both the World Championship and the Mid-Season Invitational tournaments, according to the League of Legends Esports official website.
For the last five years, OPPO has been a significant part of some of the most memorable moments in League of Legends Esports. During their global partnership announcement with LoL Esports as part of the OPPO Find X8 series launch event in Chengdu, Riot Games and OPPO reached another major milestone – China was chosen to host Worlds 2025.

We don’t yet know which cities will host the upcoming championship, as details are still unknown. However, we anticipate an announcement following the conclusion of League of Legends Worlds 2024 within the next week. The one piece of confirmed information is that League of Legends Worlds 2025 will take place in China!
It’s not the first occasion that China is set to stage the highly anticipated League of Legends tournament. Previously, they organized the 2017 event in Beijing, and the 2020 edition in Shanghai, and this year, it will take place in Chengdu as well.

Since the League of Legends Worlds 2024 is not over yet, you can follow all the news, live scores, streams, and more details here on Xpsp. The first semifinal will be BLG vs WBG on Oct. 26 followed by T1 vs GENG on Oct. 27.
