Could this be the end of Brendan Fevola’s radio show with Fifi Box? AFL legend considers massive career change
As a dedicated follower of Brendan Fevola’s career and personal journey, I must say that his recent experiences have been nothing short of inspiring. The man has always been a force to reckon with, both on and off the field. But his latest ventures seem to be pushing him beyond the boundaries of what we thought we knew about him.
Former AFL champ and radio star Brendan Fevola has teased fans about a massive career change.
43-year-old football icon from Carlton Club, now a co-host on Fox’s Fifi, Fev and Nick program, expresses his strong desire to return to coaching football again.
Fevola’s shock announcement has come after he spent a day training with Collingwood’s AFLW team.
On Friday, an emotional Fevola expressed, “It inspires me to become a coach,” to his co-hosts Fifi Box and Nick Cody.
‘You wouldn’t understand how much I loved it.
Yesterday, I spent the entire day out and active. In the past 14 years, I have never practiced with any team that I’ve played for. Not a single time.
Back in the early 2000s, Fevola, who became renowned as a top goal kicker for Carlton Football Club’s AFL elite team, shared that it was Collingwood CEO Craig Kelly who initially invited him to join their training session.
The ex-football player clarified that the invitation was intended humorously, or as a playful reprimand, following Fevola’s announcement about Kelly’s possible upcoming departure from Collingwood, as he had predicted.
During the segment, Fevola enthusiastically shared that although Craig Kelly did it as a punishment, he found it utterly delightful.
Fevola has been broadcasting on Fox FM with Fifi Box since 2016.
In the past month, I’ve managed an astounding 14.5kg weight loss without engaging in any form of physical activity, as Fevola shared not long ago.
Last month, the radio host shared with Australian Men’s Health that following the end of his sports career, he neglected his own health.
‘I haven’t been to the gym in 13 years,’ Brendan told the publication.
‘After I retired, I just didn’t see the point because I had no reason to keep fit.’
Brendan added that when he stopped training, the calories he was consuming continued to ‘stack up’.
Initially, my high food intake didn’t pose a problem when I was actively playing football, as the physical exertion helped burn off the calories. However, once I reduced the amount of exercise in my routine, those calories began to accumulate instead.
Over the past year, but especially in the last month, Brendan shed an impressive 30 kilograms as a result of deciding to overhaul his lifestyle – this transformation was achieved largely by adopting the keto diet.
Brendan mentioned that working during breakfast hours for radio led him to consume a larger amount of food with high carbohydrate content.
He mentioned that working during the morning hours leaves him feeling exhausted at unusual times. Earlier, he had been consuming a steady diet of carbohydrates without getting enough nutrients to stay alert.
While I do believe that meal choices during breakfast hours are crucial, it’s important to remember that making good decisions about what and how much to eat is key, regardless of the time.
He overhauled his diet with a 30-day challenge from Keto Australia.
The keto diet involves consuming fewer carbohydrates and more fats in order to trigger the body’s metabolism to switch from burning carbs to burning fat as its primary energy source, a state known as ketosis, which can promote weight loss.
