Guess who? International music superstar keeps a very low profile as he leaves Australia after his tour
As a dedicated fan of The Weeknd who has followed his journey since his early mixtapes, I must admit that this latest incident left me feeling a bit disheartened. After waiting so long for him to grace the stage at Marvel Stadium in Melbourne, only to have him perform for such a brief period, was truly underwhelming.
He is one of the world’s most popular and successful singers.
On Thursday, The Weekend left Sydney Airport inconspicuously after wrapping up his Australian tour.
34-year-old Canadian music sensation, known as Abel Tesfaye, maintained a discreet appearance behind a facial mask and shades while strolling through the airport accompanied by his group.
As an ardent fan, I can tell you that even during our long journey by air, my favorite singer opted for a laid-back look. They wore white track pants paired with a top of the same hue.
The artist finished off his ensemble with a pair of sneakers and concealed his hair under a Los Angeles Lakers baseball cap.
On earlier this month, The Weekend played two concerts in Melbourne, then travelled to Sydney for a pair of performances at the Accor Stadium.
But some fans were left disappointed by the first show on the Australian leg of his tour.
At 8:45 pm, the performer stepped onto the stage in Melbourne’s Marvel Stadium, fifteen minutes behind his originally planned starting time.
Later, he unexpectedly concluded his performance around 10:30 pm, causing attendees to rush to TikTok and criticize the artist for the brief duration of the $270+ per ticket event.
One fan uploaded a video of herself to the social media site as she sat looking perplexed in the stadium seats while attendees filed out of the venue.
She wrote, ‘I’m not alone in thinking this ended prematurely, right?’ (or) ‘I believe others felt it ended too soon as well, don’t I?’ (or) ‘Did everyone else think it ended abruptly like me?’
Many people rushed to her comments section to concur, with one individual posting: “He simply strolled away, as a matter of fact.
‘It was such an underwhelming end,’ another said, while a third commented: ‘He came on so late.’
‘Yesss!! We waited forever for him to come on then it was over before we knew it,’ added another.
A different person mentioned that their children enjoyed it, however, he joined later than expected and left earlier than anticipated, considering the cost.
‘My blood is still boiling,’ one fan fumed.
“He showed up late, departed prematurely, failed to deliver an additional performance, and skipped performing one of his most famous hits, ‘Moth to a Flame.’ The experience was disappointingly underwhelming.
