Mike Tindall tackles Boris Johnson to beat him in book charts

Mike Tindall tackles Boris Johnson to beat him in book charts

As a seasoned fan of the British entertainment scene, I must say that the lives and careers of these extraordinary individuals never cease to amaze me.

Yesterday, Mike Tindall released his debut book titled “Unleashed,” which coincidentally shares a name with Boris Johnson‘s memoirs. In good spirits, Mike Tindall couldn’t help but joke about the similarity with his son-in-law, Princess Anne.

Previously England’s rugby team captain aims to dethrone Boris’s book as number one on the bestseller chart by publishing a book he co-authored with Alex Payne and James Haskell, who are the hosts of his sports podcast.

The title of theirs is The Good, The Bad & The Rugby Unleashed, and Tindall used social media to draw parallels with the previous prime minister’s Unleashed initiative.

In a playful social media post, Zara Tindall’s spouse humorously noted that they both employ the same term in the title. He further mentioned that Boris’s book is authored by a ‘contentious blonde writer’, while his own work features a ‘contentious blonde co-author’.

It’s believed this refers to his ex-England teammate Haskell, who gained attention a year ago following his divorce from Chloe Madeley, the daughter of popular TV hosts Richard Madeley and Judy Finnigan.

Tindall further notes that Boris experienced a significant decline in political status, while the authors of his own work also faced a recent downfall in overall standing.

It seems unclear what specific topic he might be alluding to, however, Tindall has a wealth of experiences to consider. He could be reminiscing about his stint in the jungle during I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! in 2022, or possibly recalling the incident in 2011 when he was fined £25,000 by the Rugby Football Union for participating in a ‘dwarf-tossing contest’ at a New Zealand bar, which led to charges of ‘serious misconduct’.

He jokes that Boris’s memoirs include ‘debaucherous party stories’, referring to the fine he received for attending a gathering during lockdown. Tindall’s book, he says, features ‘debaucherous but legal party stories’. He adds of both: ‘Makes good firewood’.

Boris Johnson and Duke of Cambridge (Tindall) find themselves facing off not just against each other’s new works, but also the paperback edition of Prince Harry’s book “Spare”, which hit the shelves yesterday.

Police stop royal to make way for VIP

Even junior royals are stopped in their tracks when a senior member of ‘The Firm’ passes by.

In Chelsea, a policeman instructed David Armstrong-Jones, son of Princess Margaret, to stay on his bicycle, as a high-ranking individual passed by in a Range Rover. Although the identity of the passenger remains unknown, it’s plausible that they were a member of the British Royal Family.

If by chance Taylor Swift happened to be in the city, she found herself in the midst of a political dispute when news broke that she received a police escort for her performances at Wembley during August.

Sue Johnston second thoughts in Gen Z drama

80-year-old Sue Johnston, known for her roles in The Royle Family, confessed she had some reservations about taking part in Channel 4’s upcoming zombie series, Generation Z.

The actress recalls her initial scene on her debut day as involving a dramatic moment where I nipped someone’s nose off, and she found herself pondering aloud, “Why in heaven’s name are we enacting this?

I must commend the backup performers; they were simply outstanding, demonstrating such dedication that it made me feel less self-conscious as I enjoyed my drink.

Miranda Priestly is certainly not impressed

Such work wouldn’t have gained approval from Miranda Priestly, the rigorous, detail-oriented fashion magazine editor portrayed by Meryl Streep in The Devil Wears Prada.

It appears that the Dominion Theatre in London’s West End, currently hosting Sir Elton John’s musical adaptation of a popular film, has abruptly canceled three performances without providing any reasons to ticket holders. A representative informed me that these cancellations were because of TV/promotional appearances involving the cast, specifically American singer and actress Vanessa Williams who plays Priestly in the production.

Westwood’s granddaughter’s in style after row with brand

As a lifestyle connoisseur, I must share an intriguing development in the fashion world. This week, Cora Corre, Vivienne Westwood’s granddaughter, made a stunning departure from the iconic brand, expressing dismay over what she perceives as bullying behavior from its top executive. She claims this individual has failed to uphold her grandmother’s cherished legacy.

The 27-year-old model and activist made it clear she had no intentions of stepping out of the spotlight, as she graced the Elle Style Awards in a striking see-through blouse and a split black leather miniskirt.

It’s unclear if her outfit was designed by her granny’s label.

Cora, left, quit her role as campaign manager for the Westwood brand in a letter sent to all staff.

Is jail spell to blame for Fry’s OBE snub?

Despite being lauded as a “national treasure” by King Charles and actively participating in multiple charitable organizations, Stephen Fry has yet to receive an OBE or even a knighthood. One may wonder, why is this the case?

The broadcaster and comedian laughs, implying it would be inappropriate for him to say so, but he suggests that perhaps his past life might have been quite mischievous, as he spent time in prison when he was young and has written about the mistakes he made as a younger person.

67-year-old Fry, who was given a three-month sentence for fraud following his unlawful acquisition of a family friend’s credit card, expressed: ‘I don’t believe that’s the cause… it’s inappropriate to make such a statement.’

As a die-hard fan, I can’t help but share this tantalizing tidbit: ‘There might have been an opportunity extended to me, yet I declined. But you won’t find me spilling the beans on whether that happened or not.’

The Chelsea Flower Pension Show

Every year, they are an impressive spectacle at the Chelsea Flower Show, held within the premises of the Royal Hospital Chelsea. However, it’s been announced that next year, the Chelsea Pensioners will have their own garden, tailor-made for them, and it is rumored to be a main attraction at the event.

David Green is designing the Chelsea Pensioners’ Garden in London Square. Veteran garden enthusiasts are contributing to the project, and their suggestions have influenced the layout. In fact, the seating area will feature a touch of red reminiscent of the pensioners’ uniforms, as these will be repurposed for the seat construction.
