Helldivers 2 Coming to Xbox Would Require Sony and Phil Spencer 'Duke it Out'

As a dedicated gamer with years of experience under my belt, I can’t help but feel a sense of excitement at the prospect of Helldivers 2 gracing the Xbox platform. Having played my fair share of bug-blasting mayhem games, I can confidently say that I’ve developed a special affinity for this genre, and Starship Troopers: Extermination was just a warm-up act.

Discussions about the potential arrival of Helldivers 2 on Xbox have resurfaced again, fueled by previously expressed wishes from players for the game to be available on Microsoft’s console. However, for this to become a reality, there might need to be a sort of negotiation or collaboration between Sony and Phil Spencer, the head of Xbox, as suggested by developer Arrowhead.

In response to the question about Helldivers 2 potentially releasing on Xbox, Community Manager ‘Twinbeard’ (via Eurogamer) stated, “While it ultimately depends on Sony and Phil to decide, theoretically speaking, if both parties believe it would be financially or brand-wise advantageous, then there’s a possibility for it.

Since its release in February, Helldivers 2 has drawn a substantial crowd on PS5 and PC, with players eagerly diving into bug-blasting chaos. Meanwhile, the closest equivalent on Xbox is Starship Troopers: Extermination, a game inspired by the film, which in turn served as an inspiration for Helldivers.

Helldivers 2 is a third-person game like Starship Troopers: Extermination. Whether or not it arrives on Xbox depends on Sony, as they own the brand. If Sony feels it wouldn’t be beneficial for them, then it might not come to Xbox, according to Twinbeard.
