As a seasoned observer of celebrity dynamics, I find myself deeply moved by Nicole Kidman’s unwavering love for her children, regardless of their choices or beliefs. Her words echo the sentiments of any parent who cherishes their offspring and yearns for their presence, even when they choose different paths.

Bella Cruise expresses affection towards her half-sister, Sunday Rose Kidman Urban, as she makes her runway debut during Paris Fashion Week.

31-year-old Bella Cruise, daughter of Nicole Kidman and Tom Cruise, showed her approval by liking a recent Instagram post displaying her first modeling appearance at the Miu Miu Spring/Summer 2025 fashion event on Sunday.

Bella, who was taken in by Nicole along with her 29-year-old brother Connor, is also a part of Sunday’s life, as she is the child of Nicole and Keith Urban.

In addition to Sunday, Nicole and Keith have another daughter, Faith, born in December 2010.

As a devoted admirer, I should note that, while Bella briefly expressed approval towards Sunday Rose, her connection with Connor and their mother is intricate, as it’s been over a decade since the 57-year-old Academy Award winner has appeared publicly alongside them.

During her partnership, photographs frequently showed the family united, however, after Nicole parted ways with the Top Gun actor in 2001, it was said that they remained devoted to their father and opted to reside with him, which implied that they grew up under the guidance of the Church of Scientology.

In recent times, the actress who played a significant role in Big Little Lies has chosen not to discuss her religious beliefs or familial connections. It is rumored that she was absent from several key moments in her children’s lives, such as Bella’s wedding at The Dorchester Hotel in London back in 2015, despite residing in the city during that period.

She was reportedly left ‘devastated’ after the pair didn’t attend her father’s funeral in 2014.

In 2018, during her acceptance speech for the Best Actress Golden Globe, the actress from Nine Perfect Strangers acknowledged her biological daughters and her second spouse, Keith, without specifically mentioning Connor and Bella.

During a chat on the UK’s GMTV program not long after her previous outing with Bella and Connor, she disclosed that they address her using her own name.

She mentioned that her children don’t refer to her as “Mommy” or even “Mom.” Instead, they address her as Nicole, a name she dislikes.

Previously, Kidman herself confirmed that she maintains a connection with Connor and Bella, even though they decided to reside primarily with Cruise following their separation.

As for me, I chose to cohabit with Tom, and now I wish they would decide to join our household too, but alas, that’s not entirely within my control.

She told E! News, “Each person follows their unique journey, and it brings great comfort as a parent once they discover their own path.

In 2018, Nicole revisited the topic of her adopted children once more during an interview with Who Magazine, suggesting that their strained relationship originated from differing beliefs concerning religion.

She mentioned, “I value privacy in everything. It’s crucial to safeguard the connections I hold dear. I am completely certain, one hundred fifty percent sure, that I would lay down my life for my kids, as it aligns with my reason for being.

As a lifestyle advisor, I firmly believe that every individual, being an adult, has the autonomy to make their own decisions. Regardless of their personal choices, such as becoming a Scientologist, it is my role, as a nurturing parent, to extend unconditional love and acceptance towards them.

I, too, embody this spirit of tolerance, and I firmly uphold the idea that a child should always be met with unconditional love. Regardless of their actions, they must feel the presence of this love, and I aim to provide it freely and openly.

‘I think that’s so important because if that is taken away from a child, to sever that in any child, in any relationship, in any family – I believe it’s wrong. So that’s our job as a parent, to always offer unconditional love.’

It seemed she expected Bella and Connor to be there as the first Australian received the Life Achievement Award at the AFI ceremony in June; however, they were not present on that occasion.

Prior to the occasion, it was reportedly shared with Australia’s New Idea that Nicole understands Connor’s strong loyalty towards his father, and therefore does not anticipate his attendance. However, the invitation has been extended to both Connor and himself.

They went on to say, “They should be allowed to join in the celebration alongside Nicole’s family, as it’s a moment they are entitled to celebrate too.

‘Nicole is trying to limit her expectations, but is clinging to hope Bella might make it’.

The most recent instance of her being seen in public with Connor was during the Annual Kids’ Choice Awards held in Los Angeles back in 2007, when he was only thirteen years old.
