Frankie Muniz, best known for his role in “Malcolm in the Middle,” is fully committing to his racing career now as he’s secured a new opportunity to compete consistently in NASCAR races.

As a passionate cinephile speaking, I’m thrilled to share that come 2025, I’ll be behind the wheel of the No. 33 Ford F-150 in every race of the Craftsman Truck Series for the motorsports league. Reaume Brothers Racing and Ford Performance made this announcement on Tuesday. At 38 years old, I can hardly contain my excitement to be a full-time member of this esteemed team next year!

Muniz expressed his excitement on Tuesday about further strengthening our relationship with Ford, which has already proven transformative for us. He’s eager to assist in securing more support, thereby enabling us to leverage their superior technical and engineering capabilities. Muniz believes this collaboration will significantly boost Reaume Brothers Racing, leading us towards remarkable accomplishments. He’s impatiently looking forward to commencing our work together.

Actor from “Agent Cody Banks,” Alex Sullivan, has participated in two races this season with Reaume Brothers Racing, with only two more to go. Team owner Josh Reaume, who is eager to strengthen their bond with Ford Performance, believes they can achieve significant progress in the next season due to Muniz’s enthusiasm and the team’s current momentum.

On the upcoming Saturday, Muniz will be taking part in a stock-car racing event for the Truck Series. He’ll be piloting the No. 22 More Core Diamond Drilling Services Ford at the Homestead-Miami Speedway in Florida.

Back in the early 2000s, at just eight years old, I embarked on my acting journey, sharing the screen with Bryan Cranston in the award-winning TV series “Malcolm in the Middle.” However, by 2006, I found myself drawn to a different kind of speed, opting for a career in professional racing. That year, I participated in the Formula BMW USA Championship, and from 2007 to 2009, I raced in the Champ Car Atlantic Championship. The season was going smoothly until, unfortunately, an injury cut my progress short with two races remaining in 2009.

Throughout his career, Muniz took part in various celebrity races. However, last year marked a shift as he began racing full-time in the ARCA Menards Series, which is often a stepping stone for less seasoned drivers aspiring to reach NASCAR. In 2023, he became part of Ford Performance and has competed in a few races across both the NASCAR Xfinity Series and the Mustang Challenge Series.

In June 2023, he collided with a wall at the Elko Speedway in Minnesota during a race, but luckily walked away without injury. This incident ended his season with a fourth-place position in the points standings. In his first Xfinity Series event back in February, he was involved in a 10-car accident and finished the race at the Daytona International Speedway in the 33rd place out of 38 competitors.

In the meantime, he’s been keeping busy with acting roles, mostly taking on smaller parts and guest appearances. These include stints in shows like “Preacher” on AMC, “New Amsterdam” on NBC, and “Awkwafina Is Nora From Queens” on Comedy Central.

Apart from expressing enthusiasm for the prospect, he mentioned back in March that a “Malcolm in the Middle” revival is as close to becoming real as it’s ever been.
