Zendaya hints she’s taking a break after a packed 2026
Zendaya is expected to be a major force in Hollywood this year, but she acknowledges that being constantly in the spotlight can be challenging. Following a busy year with huge films like The Odyssey and Dune 3, plus her return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the actress is planning to step back from the public eye for a while.
The actress, known for her role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, expressed some concern that audiences might eventually tire of seeing her, but emphasized how thankful she is for the consistent support she’s received. She told Fandango she’s truly grateful to everyone who enjoys her films and career, and deeply appreciates their support.
She jokingly warned everyone that she’ll be taking a break after a busy year, saying she might need to ‘go into hiding’ for a while. Her year starts with the release of her new film, The Drama, which comes out in theaters on April 3rd.
Kristoffer Borgli directs this film starring Zendaya as Emma, a bookstore worker who is about to marry Charlie, played by Robert Pattinson. As their wedding approaches, their relationship is tested by surprising revelations.
Zendaya is quickly returning to television after her recent projects. Season 3 of Euphoria will premiere on HBO on April 12th, with Zendaya reprising her Emmy-winning role as Rue. Following that, she’ll appear in Christopher Nolan’s upcoming film, The Odyssey, and then join the Marvel Cinematic Universe. She and Tom Holland will star together in Spider-Man: Brand New Day, set to release on July 31st. Finally, the year will wrap up with her appearance in the sci-fi film, Dune 3.
