Reflecting upon Bernadette’s incredible journey, I am truly inspired by her resilience and determination. From ballet to bodybuilding, she transformed adversity into triumph, turning a back injury into a stepping stone towards success. Her story is a testament to the indomitable human spirit, a reminder that setbacks are merely opportunities for reinvention.

Gladiators star Falcon left a huge sum in her will after dying at the age of 59 in March 2023.

The celebrity, originally known as Bernadette Hunt, sadly lost her life following a prolonged struggle against cancer.

The star made their debut on the renowned show during its second season in 1993, and they stayed a crucial element of the production until it concluded.

She left nearly £300,000 to her family in her will, probate documents seen by The Sun have now revealed.

In her estate, there originally was £444,000. After settling debts and covering expenses, the remaining amount became £293,000.

The star’s wealth, including her house and personal belongings, was divided equally among her son Adam and her younger daughter Angel.

Back in March 2023, Rick Jango, Carol’s companion, shared a heartfelt post on social media to announce the passing of Bernadette, whom he described as one of the kindest individuals he had ever met.

In addition to the post dated March 21st, there were pictures included that captured Bernadette during her time as a Gladiator, a role she was particularly recognized for.

‘I regretfully announce the passing of my partner’s younger sibling, Bernadette Hunt.’

‘Most people will remember her as Falcon From the hit TV Show Gladiators.

On several occasions, I was fortunate enough to spend time with her, and let me tell you, she’s among the kindest individuals I’ve come across throughout my life.

She never uttered an unkind remark about anyone; instead, she was renowned as the kindest of all Gladiators, always pausing to chat and sign memorabilia for anyone who asked.

‘She had been battling cancer for a number of years until sadly she lost the fight. RIP Bernie.’

The couple confirmed in a response to a tribute that the funeral would be private and family only.

‘My lovely sister was an exceptional person on Earth.’

Her fellow actor, often recognized as Vogue, expressed her sympathies online, writing with a weeping emoji: ‘I learned about it a few days back.’

One of his fellow actors, James Crossley, or simply Hunter, posted a photo of Bernadette and captioned it: “A soul full of beauty. May you find peace.

On their Instagram account, The Gladiators paid a heartfelt tribute to Falcon (Bernadette Hunt), expressing their sorrow as they shared the news that she passed away on March 14th at the age of 59. Over a long period, she had been fighting cancer bravely.

In 1993, during the second season, Bernadette made her debut in the arena under the name ‘Falcon’. Immediately, she gained a strong following among fans and remained with the show until it ended in 1999. This made her the Gladiator who served the second longest as a female.

In 1992, Falcon secured her first title at the Miss Natural Health competition, which she had entered. Later that year, she added more accolades to her name such as Miss Novice Britain, Miss London and Home Counties, and Miss South Britain.

Many admirers will fondly recall Falcon as a radiantly kind, generous individual who always sported a captivating grin. The Gladiator family is deeply mourning the loss of Bernie, feeling a profound sense of sorrow.

‘Please respect the privacy of Bernadette’s family at this sad time.’

An additional comment shared: ‘I wouldn’t be who I am today without Bernie’s influence. She was instrumental in encouraging me to pursue my aerobics instructor training before the Gladiators era, and it was an honor to collaborate with her at Basingstoke Sports Centre. Bernie was a truly remarkable woman, with a kind heart, gentle soul, and radiant smile. My sympathies are extended to her family.’

‘What a pity, dear Bernie… It’s truly sad to learn about this… I had the pleasure of knowing and collaborating with her at our village pub in the 90s. She was always so cheerful and radiant. My deepest sympathies and warmest regards go out to you. May she rest peacefully, Bernie.’

“I’m deeply saddened by this news. Bernie was such an amazingly kind individual, always radiating warmth and friendliness. My thoughts and sympathies are with his family during this difficult time.

After her stint on the show, Bernadette chose to stay out of the limelight and instead took up work as a fitness coach.

Previously, Bernadette shared with the Basingstoke Gazette about her post-Gladiator life: “I’m quite content with the work I do currently, and I always have a full schedule. My days are divided between my role as a personal trainer and spending time with my kids, Adam who is 23, and Angel who is 4.

She also starred on International Gladiators between 1994 and 1995.

At the age of 18, Bernadette had been admitted to the London Contemporary Ballet School prior to embarking on her career as a bodybuilder.

Yet, her aspirations of being a ballet dancer were shattered when she sustained a back injury that halted her dance career ambitions.

Following her initiation into bodybuilding, Bernadette claimed victory in her debut competition – Miss Natural Health, held in 1992.

She went on to win other titles including Miss Novice Britain, Miss London and Home Countries 1992 and Miss South Britain.

The titular competitors in the show, such as Falcon, Jet (Diane Youdale), Wolf (Michael Van Wijk), Cobra (Michael Willson), and Lightning (Kim Betts), were well-known to households, with presenters like Ulrika Jonsson, John Fashanu, and Jeremy Guscott hosting the event.

In my journey of following the stardom, I’ve seen some rise to fame and success, while others have grappled with their unique struggles.

In 2011, Jefferson King disclosed that he had conquered his addiction after seeking treatment and living a sober life, also dedicating his time to work at a recovery center, assisting individuals grappling with substance abuse issues.

However, after a few years he was back on illegal drugs – and was charged with heroin possession.

Subsequently, he made an appearance in court, facing charges for a suspected blackmail scheme, following a day that saw his condition deteriorate significantly due to drug use, as reported by The Sun.

In August 2021, the former bodybuilder, nearly unidentifiable compared to his prime in the 1990s due to long-term substance misuse, received a six-year prison sentence.

Simultaneously, Mike Ahearne, also known as Warrior, made news when it was revealed in court that he was apprehended by the police carrying shopping bags filled with anabolic steroids and cans of pepper spray (CS spray).

62-year-old actor, famously known for his role as ‘Warrior’ on a popular Saturday evening TV series, saw a downfall in his career following his imprisonment due to a police corruption scandal linked with drug lord Curtis Warren and a high-ranking detective inspector.

Back in the groovy ’90s, this iconic TV program graced our screens for a whopping eight seasons on ITV, and it was nothing short of magical from ’92 to 2000. Guess what? My heart skipped a beat when I heard the BBC is planning a comeback! Can’t contain my excitement!

In August, Kate Phillips, the BBC’s Director of Unscripted, announced that “Gladiators” would make a comeback, promising a Saturday night show unlike any other for a fresh audience to enjoy.

Will our powerful new Gladiators prove too strong for their opponents? Tune in to discover if they have what it takes to triumph!

In 2008, the program made a comeback for two seasons on Sky One, featuring three contests where the latest group of Gladiators faced off against some of the originals.

Versions tailored for specific regions can be found in places like Australia, the U.S., Finland, and South Africa as well.
