Alan Tudyk teases his return as K-2SO in Andor: "I still have secrets"

As a die-hard Star Wars fan with decades of fandom under my belt, the anticipation for Andor Season 2 is almost palpable. Having grown up watching the original trilogy and subsequently falling in love with the entire saga, I can’t help but feel a sense of excitement and nostalgia knowing that Cassian Andor and K-2SO will be back on our screens once more.

The upcoming Season 2 of “Andor” is one of the most eagerly awaited TV series next year, not only by Star Wars enthusiasts but also by critics and non-Star Wars fans alike who admire its quality. As a precursor to “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story“, fans of the film have appreciated the references and appearances. Recently, it was confirmed by actor Alan Tudyk that his character, Cassian Andor’s loyal droid companion K-2SO, will be back for Season 2.

At the New York Comic Con 2024, Tudyk revealed, “Indeed, I’ll be part of it. However, I can’t disclose the extent of my involvement, so I’m still keeping some details under wraps. It was enjoyable to reunite with Diego Luna once more.

Tudyk not only acknowledged but also commended Tony Gilroy for his writing skills and intelligence, stating that K-2SO would fit well in the series due to his witty personality. This sentiment is shared by other cast members, such as Stellan Skarsgard who praised the creator’s writing for Season 2, with Gilroy himself calling it his “most significant work.” During an interview with Collider, Tudyk expressed excitement about the upcoming season, saying, “It will be something new… I guess we’ll find out! Let’s just wait and see.

Recently, the anxiety of accidentally divulging plot details is a constant concern for actors during interviews. Tudyk acknowledged this apprehension, humorously expressing his unease in an interview with Collider: “It’s become quite tricky. You never know what you can and cannot discuss. One mistake, and you find yourself wondering ‘What did I say?’, so I think many actors have developed a knack for lying.” Given the excitement surrounding the upcoming series Andor, following the tantalizing glimpses shared at D23 Expo 2024 in August, it’s best to avoid any potential spoilers and keep Tudyk out of trouble.

It’s been verified that “Andor” Season 2 will stream on Disney+ around 2025, though an exact release date remains undisclosed. Meanwhile, Alan Tudyk has been officially announced to attend Star Wars Celebration in the year 2025. If the series hasn’t premiered before April, we should hear updates about it by then.
