Dancing with the Stars season 33 week 5 scorecard updates: Who was eliminated on DWTS? (Live updates)

As a lifelong fan of both Disney and Dancing with the Stars, I must say that this week’s episode was nothing short of magical! From the moment the contestants stepped onto the dance floor, it felt like we were transported into our favorite Disney films.

Week after week, I express my excitement about Dancing with the Stars, but this week’s theme truly stands out as one of my favorites – and who wouldn’t adore Disney Night? It’s something I eagerly anticipate, and this season’s rendition didn’t fall short! Admittedly, there was a team that had to leave, but aside from that, it was fantastic!

Spoiler alert! If you have not watched tonight’s episode of Dancing with the Stars, go stream it on Disney+ before you read on.

For this week 5 of “Dancing with the Stars”, it’s themed as Disney Night, so each team showcased a performance inspired by songs from famous Disney movies – not the traditional fairy tales like “Snow White” or “Cinderella”, but rather contemporary Disney movies such as “Deadpool” and “Wolverine”, as well as the cherished “Wreck-It Ralph”.

Tonight, the teams merged and divided into two sets: Chandler, Brandon, Ilona, and Alan were grouped together, while Jenn, Sasha, Joey, Jenna formed Team Goofs, who presented a performance based on “A Goofy Movie”. On the other hand, Danny, Witney, Dwight, Daniella, Phaedra, Val, Stephen, and Rylee made up Team Roar, performing to “The Lion King”. Now, it’s time to reveal their scores!

Stephen and Rylee’s week 5 score is 24

Stephen and Rylee kicked off the night with the charleston to “A Star is Born” from the movie Hercules. The dance was one of my favorites, if I’m being honest, so I was disappointed by the duo scoring 8’s across the board. I think they deserved their first nine, at least from one judge! The biggest critic received was that Stephen got ahead of the music and missed the mark. Better luck next time!

Jenn and Sasha’s week 5 score is 24

Moving forward, Jenn and Sasha gracefully performed the rumba to “Kiss the Girl” from the timeless movie, The Little Mermaid. This song is one of my all-time favorites and holds great significance. However, despite receiving praise from the judges for this being her best dance of the season, they only awarded 8’s to Jenn and Sasha – not a single nine! I find it hard to understand why the judges didn’t give them a higher score, as I was thoroughly impressed with their performance.

Joey and Jenna’s week 5 score is 25

Now listen, I love me some Hercules, it’s a great movie. Joey and Jenna’s samba to “Trashin’ the Camp” from the movie, however? It did not do it for me. Sorry. I feel like Joey missed the mark. It was just a messy performance. The criticism wasn’t terrible, though, so who am I to judge? But did their words match the score? Sorta! They received a 25 (from two 8s and one 9).

Chandler and Brandon’s week 5 score is 27

Chandler and Brandon accelerated their moves with the Paso Doble to “We Own the Night” from the film “Zombies 2.” Since Chandler was an actress in this movie, this dance held special significance for her, and her enthusiasm truly shone through. It was undeniably one of my favorite dances of the evening, and the judges couldn’t get enough! We earned a perfect score of 9s, that’s right – a total of 27 points, simply fantastic!

Phaedra and Val’s week 5 score is 24

As a huge fan, I must say, it was simply marvelous witnessing Phaedra and Val groove to the tune of “Cruella De Vil” from One Hundred and One Dalmatians. The song fit Phaedra like a glove, as she embodied the infamous Cruella flawlessly. However, there were moments when some steps seemed to elude her. To spot this requires keen eyes, so it speaks volumes about her performance. I held my breath, hoping the judges wouldn’t catch it, but alas, they did. It wasn’t that Phaedra forgot choreography, but rather she seemed less assured without Val guiding her. Their score? A 24.

DWTS season 33 week 5 scores

  • Stephen and Rylee: 24
  • Jenn and Sasha: 24
  • Phaedra and Val: 24
  • Joey and Jenna: 25
  • Chandler and Brandon: 27

More to come as it happens…
