As a devoted Strictly fan who has watched Nick Knowles grapple with his injuries and dance his heart out every week, I must say it was heartwarming to see him at the Pride of Britain Awards. His resilience and determination throughout this journey are truly inspiring. It’s not often that a DIY SOS host takes on such a challenging endeavor and comes out stronger on the other side.

On Monday evening, Nick Knowles made an appearance at the Pride of Britain Awards, which took place at the Grosvenor House Hotel in London. This event followed his departure from Strictly Come Dancing and his subsequent injury.

62-year-old DIY SOS host and his dancing partner Luba Mushtuk had to withdraw from Movie Week due to an injury to the host’s shoulder and knee.

In the course of a jump, Nick took a tumble and hurt his knee, causing him to resort to crutches and arrange for an MRI examination at the hospital.

The TV host, after recovering sufficiently, made it back to “Strictly,” but unfortunately, his tenure didn’t last long; he was the third celebrity to be dismissed during the previous Sunday’s episode.

At the Pride of Britain Awards, Nick sported a stylish black tuxedo, whereas Luba, aged 34, opted for a semi-transparent black gown.

After announcing his participation in Strictly Come Dancing, he shared that he would take part in the final group dance, when a fan inquired about it.

The fan inquired on social media, “Can you perform the finale series dance if you make it? It wouldn’t feel fitting if you weren’t there.

After that, Nick responded by explaining, “I’m still unsure if I can, as I need a knee operation first and must ensure the bicep operation has fully healed before I can use crutches for both.

‘So I don’t think recovery will be in time sadly.’

On Thursday, Nick posted a video from his hospital room, informing his followers that he has approximately two to three months of physical therapy left on his recovery journey.

He said: ‘Just woken up from my op.

Everything seems to have gone smoothly, which means my bicep has been successfully reattached. Over the coming months, I’ll need some physical therapy (physio), but I expect I’ll be as good as new in about two to three months and back to full strength, just like nothing ever happened.

As I’ve successfully completed one procedure and have only one more to go, I’ll be walking with two good knees soon! A big shout-out to the incredible Dr. Ahrens and the entire medical team for making this happen!

Nick and Luba lost the dance-off to Shayne Ward and Nancy Xu.

Here I am, living and breathing every move they make, and let me tell you, it was a sight to behold! Again, the charming duo, Shayne and Nancy, graced us with their captivating Cha Cha performance, this time grooving to the rhythm of “Ain’t No Love (Ain’t No Use)” by Sub Sub featuring Melanie Williams. I can’t get enough!

Then, Nick and Luba performed their Charleston to Rain on the Roof from the film Paddington 2.

Despite managing to return to the contest following his shoulder and knee injuries, Nick, aged 62, was subsequently eliminated by all four judges – Shirley Ballas, Craig Revel Horwood, Motsi Mabuse, and Anton Du Beke.

In response to Tess’s question about his experience on the show, Nick expressed that he was quite taken aback by just how much he has enjoyed participating in it and by two unexpected occurrences.

He explained: ‘One is how much you care each week, and the other is how much you don’t want to let down your partner.

‘The only reason I could do this is simply because of Luba’s changes, she’s been amazing.’

Luba said: ‘I’ve never met someone as determined as you, and I remember you saying that if you do your best, you’ll be very happy. I think you did more than your best. Thank you.’

When Tess inquired about Luba, Nick revealed that she had been outstanding and simply fantastic each day.

As a devoted admirer, let me express my heartfelt gratitude to every unsung hero behind the scenes – the physios, the team, and everyone who has tirelessly supported me throughout this incredible week. A round of applause for my remarkable competitors too; they’ve been nothing short of astounding, gracious individuals that have truly touched my spirit.

‘There are some amazing dancers up there, and I will love watching the rest of the series.’

This year marks the 25th anniversary of the Pride Of Britain Awards, and once again, Ashley Banjo and Carol Vorderman will be stepping up as the hosts.

At the event, Sam Thompson and Pete Wicks will be the hosts for the live red-carpet action, while GK Barry will create and present online content from a special online bar of her own.

Since 1999, this ceremony has been held to celebrate the exceptional accomplishments of individuals from various backgrounds throughout the United Kingdom, who have been recognized by the public for their remarkable contributions.

Following the creation of a selection from the vast number of submissions, the Pride of Britain judging committee selects the winners.

Prior to the event, The King and Prime Minister Keir Starmer paid tribute to the country’s unrecognized heroes. (Paraphrased)

The King referred to them as the cream of the crop among us, whereas Sir Keir remarked that they epitomize all that is outstanding and admirable about Great Britain.
