Disney World announces some exciting new holiday entertainment for Christmas in the parks!

As a gamer with over two decades of Disney World visits under my belt, I can confidently say that the holiday season at Walt Disney World is not to be missed! The anticipation starts as soon as Halloween decorations are taken down, and November 1st arrives – signaling the unofficial start of Christmas in the parks.

There’s not much time left until Halloween, but Disney World has started sharing exciting news about the upcoming holiday season! Let me give you a sneak preview of what awaits us at Disney World during Christmas!

Among Disney enthusiasts, there’s a shared understanding that on November 1st, Halloween decorations mysteriously disappear, ushering in the Christmas season. This transition is especially noticeable since the end of the pandemic, with Walt Disney World going all out for the holiday celebrations. Excitingly, Disney has unveiled their grand plans for 2024, combining cherished traditions with some delightful surprises!

EPCOT

Every time I visit Epcot, I’m always excited to dive into the enchanting “Around the World” stories! Each pavilion in the World Showcase offers a unique glimpse into how different nations celebrate either their traditional holidays or Christmas. From Norway’s cozy Bar Santa to Italy’s mystical La Befana witch, and even the joyous celebration of Hanukkah, it never fails to be an unforgettable experience!

As a game enthusiast, I’m super excited to let you know that I’ll be rocking out at Communicore West for the Jam at JOYFUL! This festive event features gospel and R&B spins on beloved Christmas tunes. Four performances each day by different artists ensure there’s always something fresh to enjoy, so don’t forget to check the schedules!

Disney has revealed the lineup for this year’s Candlelight Procession, an annual event featuring a choir, a celebrity narrator, and a 50-piece orchestra accompanied by the Voices of Liberty. The story of Christmas will be shared through these performances each night, with some familiar faces returning along with newcomers like Ralph Macchio, best known for his role in “The Karate Kid.

ANIMAL KINGDOM

For several years, Santa Claus has merely greeted guests during parades, but this year, he will be accessible for personal encounters at the 75th Annual Dino Institute Holiday Party on Restaurantosaurus’ patio. The event takes place from November 12th through Christmas Eve, and young children can meet Santa for picture-taking opportunities.

At Discovery Island, the beloved Merry Menagerie returns, offering visitors a chance to immerse themselves in the creative world of these delightful puppets! Additionally, Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse will be there, donning festive attire for an added touch of holiday cheer.

HOLLYWOOD STUDIOS:

Some brand-new entertainment is coming to the Studios this year:

  • The Juggling Elves: a fun elf-themed troupe doing comedy and juggling routines for guests
  • The Holiday Spirit Band: A roaming brass band doing big-band versions of Christmas favorites
  • Seasons Jukebox: A rhythm band-style group of drummers, trumpets, and dancers doing some great numbers.

Throw in the usual favorites like a holiday overlay for Frozen: For the First Time In Forever and Sunset Seasons Greetings light show and the Studios will be rocking nicely.

As a gaming enthusiast, I’m eagerly anticipating more details about the upcoming holiday festivities at the Magic Kingdom. But it seems that Walt Disney World is planning to make this year even more magical with some delightful surprises to celebrate the holiday season of 2024!
