After Cynthia, aged 37, voiced her frustration over alterations deemed offensive in the production of “Wicked,” which she perceived as effectively removing her character, the duo decided to step out following this controversy.
During a conversation at the event, Ariana, aged 31, supported Cynthia’s stance when she expressed concerns about AI, labeling its application as ‘contradictory and problematic.’

On Wednesday, the actress shared on her Instagram Story a revised snapshot of the freshly revealed poster for her upcoming movie, a re-adaptation from the stage production.
She wrote: ‘This is the wildest, most offensive thig I have seen.’
Cynthia continued by likening it to the queries about her green complexion in the movie that she’s received.
She continued: ‘None of this is funny. None of it is cute. It degrades me. It degrades us.
The initial contributor is not a person but rather an illustration. Conversely, I am a living, breathing human being, intentionally facing the camera directly towards you, the observer, as a means of communicating without needing words, using only the power of our eyes to convey messages.
After showcasing her acting skills, she proceeded to explain the distinct variations between the initial musical and the dramatic adaptation.
She stated, “Our poster pays tribute rather than copies,” followed by, “Altering my features or concealing my eyes feels like obliterating who I am, which is incredibly painful.
She then went on to post another Instagram Story featuring the official poster.

In the official poster, there’s a noticeable contrast as Erivo’s image shows her gazing straight at the camera with an expressionless countenance.
In the stage adaptation of Wicked, as well as in fan art, Elphaba’s hat is typically depicted as being pulled low enough to cover both her eyes and nose. Additionally, she often appears with a sly grin on her face and sporting bold red lipstick.
