As a gamer who’s seen his fair share of horror movies and played countless survival games, I can confidently say that “Smile 2” is a rollercoaster ride that doesn’t disappoint. The movie masterfully plays with our perception of reality, keeping us on edge until the very end.

As I played through Smile 2, it mirrored the mind-boggling climax of the original film, leaving me questioning what was genuine and what was an illusion. Distinguishing reality from fantasy wasn’t a walk in the park!

In the continuation of the 2022 horror movie titled “Smile,” the narrative initially delves into the aftermath of its climactic ending. However, it later shifts its focus to an entirely fresh protagonist.

The narrative revolves around Skye Riley (played by Naomi Scott), a well-known pop artist making a return to the stage a year after a devastating car accident. On top of dealing with addiction and trauma, Skye encounters a chilling creature known as the Smile Entity – a parasitic force that induces hallucinations and magnifies one’s deepest fears and insecurities.

In seven days, the entity makes people eerily grin just before they end their own lives, and this happens in a way that sets off a new round of events when witnessed by another person.

There’s a method to overcome it, according to Morris (Peter Jacobson), an ER nurse whose brother was cursed. The parasite can be eliminated if the host’s body expires. Skye is hesitant about this approach, as one would expect, but she may not have any other options available.

In the third act of “Smile 2”, it becomes challenging to distinguish between the occurrences stemming from Skye’s nightmares and those that are genuinely taking place in reality.

Following an intense encounter with the Smile Entity, I found myself admitted to a recuperative facility, preparing for the kickoff of my much-awaited tour. Even though I repeatedly expressed my doubts about being mentally ready for the audience, my mom scolded me for disappointing everyone.

All at once, Skye’s mom gives off a chilling smile, indicating a dreadful event is imminent. Shattering a mirror, she uses shards of glass to inflict wounds upon herself, causing blood to spatter profusely around her.

As Skye attempts to flee, she suddenly becomes aware that she herself is clutching a shard of glass and her gown is soaked with her mother’s blood. It remains uncertain whether this scene is authentic or if the spirit is deceiving her once more.

Following an ungraceful exit from the hospital, Skye runs into her pal Gemma (Dylan Gelula). In a turn of events, Gemma assists Skye in making a getaway with a car that was not lawfully acquired. The renowned musician is willing to risk Morris’ strategy for eliminating the mysterious being.

In the car, the second Smile unexpectedly reveals a profound truth – Gemma wasn’t truly Gemma all along, but another hallucination instead. This fact becomes clear to Skye when the genuine Gemma phones her, in response to the initial voicemail sent at the beginning of the movie.

Eventually, Skye manages to reclaim possession of her thoughts for a sufficient duration to seize the vehicle and navigate to the deserted Pizza Hut where she is due to meet Morris.

As a gamer, I find myself in a peculiar situation: The game’s rulebook states that the character will be temporarily ‘frozen’ in the ‘cold storage room’, allowing her brain to keep functioning for a crucial revival later. But when I step away from the console to grab a snack, those haunting nightmares return once more.

On the tragic night when Skye’s boyfriend, Ray Nicholson, passed away in a car accident, she encounters an entity that appears to be a replica of herself.

In a dark outfit stained with what appears to be blood, the false Skye has arrived to deliver the fatal blow to the singer’s already troubled life. However, Skye struggles against this seemingly real event and attempts to save herself, but ultimately it becomes clear that this is yet another haunting nightmare.

Instantaneously, I find myself standing on stage at the kickoff of my tour concert. A sea of thousands gaze expectantly at me, eager for my performance. My mom, who appears to be alive and well, is cheering me on from the sidelines. It’s a bit confusing if everything from the rehab center up until now was merely a figment of my imagination, but I can’t quite put it together.

As I’m center-stage, I spot a mirror image of myself, also standing there. Suddenly, a horrifying creature bursts forth from this twin, lurching towards me before vanishing into my own mouth, devouring me whole.

As a devoted fan, I couldn’t help but feel my heart race when Skye unexpectedly crumpled on stage, sending shivers through the crowd as she convulsed. Yet, just before her team could reach her, she miraculously regained her footing. With a sense of determination, she rose steadily and turned to face us, her audience, with an expression that spoke volumes about her resilience.

She is smiling, and it’s not the good kind of smile.

The entity completely controls her body, causing Skye to violently break her microphone multiple times against her own head, effectively ending her life on stage. However, only her followers are present in the scene, reacting with terror-stricken shrieks and fleeing in panic.

At Skye’s demise, it seems clear that each individual present at the concert has been tainted by the curse. The film leaves us in the dark regarding the specifics of this entity and its consequences following such a grim finale, making it difficult to predict exactly what lies ahead.

If the conclusion of ‘Smile 2’ suggests that the Smile Entity has spread among countless individuals, situations could quickly become chaotic and dangerous. We’ll need to see ‘Smile 3’ to understand the outcome better.
