Kyle and Jackie O laugh off claims they lead a ‘weird cult’ at Sydney’s No.1 breakfast radio station

Kyle and Jackie O laugh off claims they lead a 'weird cult' at Sydney's No.1 breakfast radio station

As a lifestyle expert with years of experience in the entertainment industry, I must say that the alleged ‘KJ cult’ at KIIS FM is nothing more than a harmless inside joke between Kyle Sandilands, Jackie ‘O’ Henderson, and their dedicated team. The media often tends to sensationalize office dynamics, turning them into something they are not. In this case, it appears that the radio duo has created a unique work environment that fosters camaraderie, creativity, and a bit of playful banter.

Kyle Sandilands has dismissed allegations labeling him and his co-host, Jackie ‘O’ Henderson, as running a strange cult, on Sydney’s top-rated morning radio station, KIIS FM.

The host of the radio and Australian Idol, who is 53 years old, jokingly criticized a recent article about their workplace culture during their live broadcast.

Kyle shared with Jackie and the team on Thursday that several news reporters have referred to you all as following a “Kyle Jones cult.

The article quoted a number of anonymous celebrity publicists and claimed to have lifted the lid on the ‘nightmare’ behaviour of the infamous Australian radio duo.

‘It is a bit of a cult, don’t ya reckon?’ a KIIS FM producer responded.

The video edit of the on-air conversation, which was shared to social media, cut to a dramatic montage of behind-the-scenes footage.

Multiple videos depicted a helper wipfully cleaning Kyle’s head using a napkin, as well as Australian Idol judge soaring in a helicopter and socializing with admirers.

‘Nah, I don’t know if it’s a cult. Nah, well…Does that make me the supreme [leader]?’ he said.

He then dismissively referred to co-host Jackie O as ‘the girl’ in their partnership.

Kyle’s longtime partner and right-hand assistant appeared shocked by the demotion, responding with mock indignation: ‘Me?’ she said, surprised.

Subsequently, a video emerged depicting a group of employees cheerfully shouting “Jackie O!” and unfurling a pink carpet as they welcomed the host at the North Sydney branch of their office.

In the news article, a publicist was mentioned discussing the substantial number of producers and helpers on the morning program’s staff.

The individual remarked that there are numerous employees among them, often found standing, applauding, and cheering. It can feel a bit peculiar or odd, as if it’s a unique, somewhat mysterious group.

‘Yeah!’ Kyle cheered on Thursday as he explained it to Jackie O.

‘You’re like the number one girl and your job would be to recruit others into the cult.’

The group of publicists complained they had to ‘feed the beast’ of the Kyle and Jackie O show by offering up A-list celebrities, who they’re paid to promote, for unpredictable interviews.

King Kyle opted for the moniker and marked his posts on Thursday using the hashtag #KJCULT, as the video was disseminated across the show’s social networks.

Furthermore, he gave the topic more emphasis by reposting on Instagram Stories a picture of his manager and Bruno, the director of The Kyle and Jackie O Show, shielding him under an umbrella.

Kyle sported a wide smile and chuckled as his staff member remained soaked in the rain, shielding Kyle’s client with an umbrella.

Earlier this week, Kyle had to issue an apology to Abbie Chatfield during a rather uncomfortable live broadcast.

On Wednesday, Kyle along with his co-host Jackie O Henderson interviewed Adam Hyde, Abbie’s boyfriend, during their radio show. They inquired about his romantic involvement with the host of FBoy Island.

Kyle openly acknowledged, “I believe Abbie doesn’t appreciate me as much as I thought. It seems there might have been a misunderstanding.” Jackie proposed that the radio duo invite Abbie for an on-air conversation to “clarify things” or “resolve any confusion”.

After picking up the phone, Kyle said: “Adam shared some news that left me stunned. I’ve always considered myself an optimist… it seems you don’t feel fondly towards me.

Abbie expressed her discomfort by saying, ‘I took issue with the tone you used when discussing me. The comments you made were thoughtless and painful, not just for me but also for any women who heard you criticize the idea of dating multiple people.’

‘There seemed to be a significant connotation of body shaming within our discussion, which left me feeling uneasy. If your intent was different, I apologize for any misunderstanding, but the overall tone of the conversation made me feel uncomfortable.’

‘I never didn’t like you,’ Kyle clarified.

After that, Abby persisted in making Kyle apologize for what he did, followed by asking him to repeat after her in an incredibly uncomfortable situation.

She admitted, “I’m sorry if my thoughtless words unintentionally suggested slut-shaming. That wasn’t my aim, but regardless, I apologize.
