Tell Me Lies boss teases big cast exit for season 3
As a die-hard fan of gripping romantic thrillers and captivating storylines, I must say that “Tell Me Lies” has truly stolen my heart! With its intricate plot twists and emotional depth, this show is an absolute masterpiece. The season 2 finale was nothing short of a rollercoaster ride, leaving me on the edge of my seat with bated breath.
Tell Me Lies season 2 spoilers follow.
Meaghan Oppenheimer, the mind behind “Tell Me Lies,” has subtly suggested that Tom Ellis may not be part of a hypothetical third season for the series.
In the United States this week, the second season finale of the romantic-thriller series streaming on Disney+ in the UK aired. This episode revealed the secret affair between characters Bree (Catherine Missal) and Oliver (Ellis), but with an unexpected twist.
In the conversation, it was revealed that Oliver’s spouse, Marianne (played by Gabriella Pession), had been aware of their shared secret affair all this time. This was possible because they were partaking in an open marriage arrangement. However, they intentionally chose to keep Bree unaware of this aspect of their relationship.
Regarding the public revelation of Bree and Oliver’s relationship, Oppenheimer offered an unexpected response when queried by Variety about the possible return of Tom Ellis, who previously starred in Lucifer.
The producer stated, “I’m not sure about it, but it seems Tom was only interested in one season. In my opinion, we concluded his storyline effectively, leaving me unsure where else we could take him. Perhaps Marianne could return; there’s certainly more story to explore with her. However, I feel that Oliver has become so damaged and empty by the end of this season that I’m ready for Bree to move on from him.
One primary motivation for me to participate in the show initially was to challenge and dispel the common misconception that only vulnerable or unintelligent women fall prey to manipulation by narcissists and deceitful individuals. It’s important to clarify that being taken advantage of by love is not exclusive to foolish women.
Even the toughest among us can succumb to this. Some remarkable women I’ve met have a soft spot for men or relationships, which reveals such vulnerability. It’s puzzling how the desire to be cherished can make us lose sight of ourselves.
Even though Hulu hasn’t formally announced a third season for “Tell Me Lies,” creator Meaghan Oppenheimer and her team have already mapped out potential directions for the series to take.
In the captivating narrative of “Tell Me Lies“, the storyline fluidly jumps between occurrences in 2008 and 2015, gradually unveiling intricate relationships among the characters.
The author stated, “As time passes, our glimpse into the future will expand,” but with a twist. They predict that by the third season, we’ll see some lingering elements of 2008 due to unfinished business. However, they suggest that there will be a noticeable increase in elements from 2015 compared to 2008.
Tell Me Lies streams on Disney+ in the UK and Hulu in the US.
