This comes after she was in a controversy with Melissa McCarthy.

Streisand seemed unaware that her post was public when she inquired on Instagram if McCarthy had hopped onto the bandwagon of famous people using Ozempic.

The singer known for “You Don’t Bring Me Flowers,” asked a question following Melissa, the actress from Bridesmaids (aged 53), who posted a series of pictures on social media depicting her and choreographer Adam Shankman (aged 59) outside the Centre Theatre Group Gala in Los Angeles. In these photos, Melissa is seen wearing a pastel green jacket and dress.

Following criticism from Melissa’s supporters over alleged body shaming towards The Heat actress, Barbra defended herself on Instagram Stories regarding a now-deleted post by stating: “I logged onto Instagram to view the lovely floral arrangements I’d been given for my birthday instead!

‘Below them was a photo of my friend Melissa McCarthy who I sang with on my Encore album.

‘She looked fantastic! I just wanted to pay her a compliment. I forgot the world is reading!’

Simultaneously, Melissa expressed her feelings about the incident with Barbra to TMZ’s paparazzi, saying, “Barbra is truly a gem, and I adore her.

Melissa labeled the pictures that sparked Barbra’s curiosity about Ozempic: ‘I used pastel colors in tribute to the fantastic @matthewbourne13 at last night’s @ctgla gala, along with this man @adamshankman! I’m getting really close to my goal of dancing on stage (dancing and heart emojis).’

Barbra responded in the comments: ‘Give him my regards did you take Ozempic?’

Instagram users labeled Barbra as anything from foolish to impolite following her question. However, some supporters argued that Barbra would never deliberately attempt to ridicule Melissa.

One said: ‘Babs is 82‍ (shrugging emoji) kinda par for the course, old people do not know how (stuff)works nor do they (care.)’

For quite some time, Melissa has been candid about her fluctuating weight, even admitting that she’s worn various sizes throughout her life, which feels like every size available on Earth.

She once lost 70lbs by turning to an all-liquid diet, which she later said she’d ‘never’ do again.

In 2015, she shed approximately 50 pounds by shifting her focus away from an excessive preoccupation with her body shape. She expressed this change in perspective to Life and Style magazine then, saying, “I really stopped fretting over it.

“It seems that relaxing a bit and letting go of some tension might have unexpectedly been effective.

In the year 2016, Melissa and Barbra collaborated on a rendition of “Anything You Can Do.” This performance was included in Barbra’s successful album, titled ‘Encore,’ which earned her both an Oscar and a Grammy award.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly in 2023, Melissa said Barbra is ‘really funny’, adding about what surprised her about the star when they first met: ‘I think when she opened the door she had leggings on and lunch meat in her hand. And I was like, ‘None of this is what I expected.’
