2025 Royal Rumble winner predictions

2025 Royal Rumble winner predictions

As a seasoned wrestling fan with decades of watching these larger-than-life characters entertain us, I must say the rumors and speculations surrounding the future of WWE are nothing short of electrifying!

On February 1, 2025, the 38th installment of the Royal Rumble wrestling event will broadcast live from Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, Indiana. This marks the beginning of the journey towards WrestleMania 41, and the outcomes could significantly impact events leading up to the Greatest Spectacle in Sports Entertainment.

The highly anticipated 30-person Royal Rumble match for both men and women will undoubtedly steal the show, with winners securing a chance to challenge for a world title at WrestleMania 41. WWE has been on fire recently, and they’ll be careful to select the ideal contenders for those coveted world title opportunities at WrestleMania. With that in view, let’s explore potential superstars who might emerge victorious in the 2025 men’s and women’s Royal Rumble matches.

The Rock

At WrestleMania 40, it was nearly The Rock who seized Cody Rhodes’ chance to challenge Roman Reigns for the Undisputed WWE Championship. However, strong fan opposition led to Rhodes regaining his title match, and in turn, The Rock transformed into a villain, unveiling his malevolent Final Boss persona.

At WrestleMania 40’s tag team match on its opening night, The Rock successfully pinned Cody Rhodes and made it clear that he intended to seek him out once Rhodes returned from his break. He resurfaced after the main event of Bad Blood PLE, but didn’t reveal whether he would align with The Bloodline during their civil war or if his purpose was to renew his feud with Cody Rhodes instead.

If The Rock wins the 2025 Men’s Royal Rumble, it seems more plausible because he would then have a chance to face off against Cody Rhodes for the WWE Championship. Meanwhile, Roman Reigns might be wrapping up his affairs with Solo Sikoa’s New Bloodline.

Jade Cargill

Over the past ten months, Jade Cargill has been showcasing her skills in the WWE ring for the first time, but the creative team led by Triple H is being patient before placing her in the women’s championship mix. With her impressive power and captivating wrestling style, she stands out among other female wrestlers. However, when she initially joined WWE, there was still room for improvement in mastering her techniques.

Prior to making her debut on the main roster, WWE made certain she underwent rigorous training at their Performance Center. Once ready, the company teamed her with Bianca Belair, a top performer in the ring, and together they became two-time WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions.

Bianca Belair has victoriously claimed the title at the Royal Rumble event and boasts a three-time Women’s Championship reign. It appears that Jade Cargill is primed for advancement. Spectators eagerly anticipate a showdown between these two powerhouses in the 2025 women’s Royal Rumble, with Cargill emerging victorious. This potential win could signal the start of a heated rivalry between them in the future.

Roman Reigns

Roman Reigns informed Cody Rhodes that once he handles matters with The Bloodline, his goal is to regain the Undisputed WWE Championship. But, with The Rock entering the plot and Jimmy Uso attempting to bring Jey Uso back into the original Bloodline, it seems like Roman has a lot of family affairs to attend to before he can pursue the title.

For a while now, the highly anticipated match between Roman Reigns and The Rock has been on hold by WWE. However, whispers in the grapevine indicate that WWE may opt for The Rock versus Cody Rhodes at WrestleMania 41 instead. But as we witnessed last year, The Rock isn’t reliant on winning the Royal Rumble to secure a title opportunity at WrestleMania.

Leaving an opportunity untouched for Roman Reigns, The OTC could triumph in the 2025 Men’s Royal Rumble and opt to challenge Rhodes for the WWE Championship at WrestleMania 41. However, The Rock might interfere to turn the match into a massive Three-Way Contest.

Becky Lynch

In June 2024, Becky Lynch completed her WWE contract, making her a free agent. Her final match with WWE was against Liv Morgan in a steel cage on May 27, 2024, during Raw, but she wasn’t successful in reclaiming the Women’s World Championship.

Fans of wrestling have been discussing what Becky Lynch might do next, questioning whether she would switch teams to AEW or come back to WWE after taking some time off. However, the latest gossip suggests that it won’t be long before Lynch signs a new agreement with WWE and makes her return.

Fans are eagerly anticipating the potential return of Becky Lynch, who might make her comeback during the 2025 Royal Rumble event, potentially making history as the first two-time Women’s Royal Rumble champion and reclaiming the spotlight in the Women’s World title scene on Raw.

John Cena

At the 2024 Money in the Bank Pay-Per-View Event, John Cena stunned the entire professional wrestling fanbase by revealing that the year 2025 would mark the end of his active wrestling career.

Starting in January 2025 with the premiere of WWE Raw on Netflix, John Cena’s retirement tour will take place, lasting until December when the 16-time WWE Champion will retire permanently.

Rumor has it that WWE could be planning for John Cena to surpass Ric Flair’s record and claim his 17th championship during a farewell tour, and Gunther seems to be the likely candidate to pass on his world title to Cena. Winning the Men’s Royal Rumble in 2025 might provide WWE with an opportunity for a grand send-off, featuring one last world title match for Cena, culminating in a memorable WrestleMania moment.

Alexa Bliss

Since the arrival of Wyatt Sicks on the main roster, wrestling enthusiasts have eagerly awaited Alexa Bliss’ potential comeback. Bliss went on a break from WWE following the Royal Rumble 2023 after receiving a skin cancer diagnosis, and later took a maternity leave to welcome her firstborn child, a daughter, who was born on November 27, 2023.

In the latest Raw episode, I caught a sneaky peek at Alexa Bliss’ Lily Doll during a backstage scene with Liv Morgan and Dominik Mysterio. This little glimpse has sparked rumors about The Judgment Day potentially setting their sights on the Wyatt Family next. And if Bliss’ recent Instagram post is anything to go by, she’s planning a comeback soon!

If it turns out that way, Liv Morgan currently holding the Women’s World Championship title means there’s a chance Bayley could win the Women’s Royal Rumble in 2025. This would then lead to a title match between Bayley and Liv Morgan at WrestleMania 41.

CM Punk

Following a fierce Hell in a Cell bout at WWE Bad Blood against Drew McIntyre, CM Punk brought an end to their prolonged rivalry. Now that this phase of his career is over, WWE enthusiasts eagerly anticipate what lies ahead for the Straight Edge Superstar.

Punk made clear his plan to challenge Gunther for the World Heavyweight Title following their encounter at Bash in Berlin. But, it seems like he won’t get this opportunity right away since he could be faced with an old adversary, Seth Rollins, first.

As a die-hard fan, I’m thrilled about the prospect of Seth Rollins squaring off with Bronson Reed at Crown Jewel. This encounter could pave the way for an exhilarating showdown against CM Punk at Survivor Series. Both Rollins and Punk seem evenly matched for the 2025 Men’s Royal Rumble, but if either of them manages to win and somehow secure a spot in the title match, we might witness a spectacular triple threat World Heavyweight Championship bout between Gunther, Seth Rollins, and CM Punk at WrestleMania 41.
