Death in Paradise star reveals condition for returning to the show

As a devoted fan of Death in Paradise, I can’t help but feel a sense of excitement and anticipation when hearing Tahj Miles hint at potentially returning to the show. His character, Officer Marlon Pryce, has been a beloved addition to the Saint Marie police squad, and his journey from petty thief to dedicated officer has captured our hearts.

Death in Paradise star Tahj Miles has opened up about potentially returning to the BBC One show.

Earlier this year, Tahj concluded his portrayal of Officer Marlon Pryce because the character decided to depart from Saint Marie, accompanying his sister who was awarded a scholarship in Jamaica.

Audience grew fond of Marlon throughout an extended narrative on the show “Death in Paradise,” shifting his character arc from a small-time crook to a member of the Saint Marie police force.

After Tahj’s exit from “Death in Paradise” has recently taken place, he hinted to The Radio Times that there might be a chance for viewers to witness his character again in the future.

He shared, “I rarely refuse anything. My life hasn’t ended, so opportunities continue to present themselves. However, everything must align and make logical sense.

Tahj made it clear that it was essential for his character to be treated consistently, ensuring there was a sound motive for his return to Saint Marie.

If you don’t spot me on the program for the following two to three years, understand that it might not align with the current circumstances, be it personal choices I’m making or the creative decisions being made regarding the show and my character.” He clarified.

I’ll return if it feels right, as I dislike engaging in activities that seem illogical. Such actions often lead to complications. However, it’s important to keep an open mind. So, there’s a possibility I might come back; let’s wait and see.

Tahj Miles as Daniel in Mr Loverman

Since saying goodbye to “Death in Paradise,” I’ve found myself immersed in another captivating role on the BBC’s drama series, “Mr Loverman.” In this intriguing tale, I step into the shoes of a character played by Lennie James – a 74-year-old man born in Antigua, who is grappling with the decision to finally come out to his wife of half a century.

The actor recently confessed it was “scary” to join the cast of a major drama like Mr Loverman because he’d “just been in the head of Marlon for four years” on Death in Paradise.

Death in Paradise and its spin-off, Beyond Paradise, both air on BBC One and stream on BBC iPlayer.
