Vanderpump Rules future 'revealed' after Scandoval affair delayed new season

As a long-time fan of Vanderpump Rules, I find myself deeply concerned about the latest developments surrounding the show. Having followed the series since its inception, I’ve grown attached to the cast members and their dramatic antics.

As a die-hard fan, I’ve been on tenterhooks with the latest buzz surrounding Vanderpump Rules! Rumors are swirling that the upcoming season has been postponed due to the ‘Scandoval’ drama. Can’t wait to see how this unfolds!

Previously on the program, it came to light that Ariana Madix’s long-term partner Tom Sandoval had been unfaithful for nearly a decade, as he was involved with their mutual acquaintance Raquel Leviss (now referred to as Rachel).

As a lifestyle enthusiast, I found myself right smack-dab in the middle of the whirlwind of drama that enveloped the entire Vanderpump Rules crew, becoming the main focus for the following two seasons of this captivating reality show.

April unveiled some intriguing news: Production for season 12 has temporarily paused. According to an inside scoop, it seems our beloved cast is taking a much-needed breather to unwind and rejuvenate following the mind-boggling drama of ‘Scandoval.’ As a die-hard fan, I can’t help but share in their exhaustion and eagerly await their return to the small screen.

Currently, it’s being reported that a Hollywood insider claims the hold-up stems from a completely new cause. Moreover, this individual has offered a stunning forecast about the future direction of the Bravo series, as per The Sun.

According to Thea De Sousa, who’s been involved in Hollywood development and penned a fun fact book on Vanderpump Rules, she predicts that the series will conclude following its twelfth season.

A Bravo spokesperson denied De Sousa’s claims in a statement to DailyMail.com.

On Tuesday evening, a gathering celebrating De Sousa’s book took place at SUR Restaurant & Lounge, a well-known location featured on Vanderpump Rules. Notable attendees from Bravo included the popular figure, Tom Sandoval, among others.

According to De Sousa, Bravo continues to confirm their intention of producing another season, which is expected to be the final one. This decision stems from the fact that the production of this show has become quite costly for Bravo.

Each actor receives an increased paycheck with every new season. Given that we’ve reached Season 12, you can understand how financially strained Bravo has become due to these salary increases, which has been a concern since the spring.

The primary cause for not shooting during the summer was that they found it difficult to manage the same contracts. Consequently, they had to begin negotiations with individuals and attempt to demote some from principal actors to secondary characters (i.e., “friends of”), which they had previously tried to do a couple of seasons earlier.

Deepening the complexities, it seems that several members of the original group are no longer as close-knit as they once were. Furthermore, rumors suggest that the production could benefit from some fresh faces.

It was claimed by De Sousa that prior to the ‘Scandoval’, discussions were underway for creating a spin-off series focusing on Tom Sandoval and Tom Schwartz, with their bar Schwartz and Sandy’s serving as the central plot point.

According to De Sousa, it was initially thought that there wouldn’t be another season of Vanderpump, but the Scandoval event occurred, which led to them creating another season based on the Scandoval drama.

Originally, the cameras were meant to be in place by now, but they are still encountering issues. This isn’t due to the TV show itself, but rather the challenging terrain of reality television and the fact that the rewards aren’t as substantial for Bravo as they once were. The most optimistic timeline suggests the issue will be resolved by November or December; the least favorable scenario stretches into the beginning of the following year.

Later on, the most challenging situation is that they might never be able to repeat it financially, yet they persist in guaranteeing another finale. However, they have merely delayed its production, as De Sousa clarified.

Originally, it was planned for the cameras to start rolling in mid-October, but this has been delayed multiple times now. Each time, they’ve indicated they’re almost ready, yet they haven’t given the final go-ahead. This information is coming from reliable sources within the production team as they are informed when the project receives approval for filming.

Everyone is willing to work together as they all aim to continue the success of the show. After all, they’re likely motivated by the paychecks, and perhaps their affection for the show as well. However, the issue lies not with the cast’s desires, but rather with Bravo compensating them appropriately – that’s the crux of it.

It’s clear there will be some friction among the cast members. There are certainly individuals who don’t see eye-to-eye. However, it’s important to clarify that the rumor about the entire cast being a problem is unfounded. They aren’t avoiding filming. In fact, everyone involved is eager for the show to continue, including Ariana, who wants another season of this popular series.

She asserted: ‘A significant number of the actors have been part of the show since its inception and earn a substantial sum each season. Given this high salary for returning in Season 11, contractually, Bravo must pay more than what they’re currently earning, plus an additional increase. The only method by which they can reduce costs with certain cast members is by lowering their roles.’

Lea proposed: “It’s possible that, similar to Scheana [Shay], they could be given a lower position, thereby reducing their pay. This seems to be the contract-related issues they were grappling with throughout the summer. Is there anyone willing to accept a decrease in rank?

She claimed that the demotions would be confidential, as ‘when you engage in sponsorships and activities outside of the show, it’s best not to discuss them. For instance, if I were demoted this season, I wouldn’t want to disclose that information. All that truly matters is that I’m part of the cast.’

By the end of April, when the news broke about the movie’s production delay, it was suggested that lingering tension related to ‘Scandoval’ might be the cause.

According to a source from Page Six, everyone involved in the production is eagerly anticipating a pause in filming, as they all feel it’s important to take some time to unwind following two demanding and challenging seasons.

In March 2023, Madix ended her relationship with Sandoval, having found evidence of his infidelity with Leviss upon checking his phone.

During the Scandoval uproar, Sandoval transformed into a widely despised figure while Madix gained significant public empathy.

While Leviss faced an intense storm of criticism, she ultimately decided to leave Vanderpump Rules and sought refuge in a mental health center for approximately two months.

That summer, she re-emerged into the public spotlight, and in February, she filed a lawsuit against Sandoval and Madix alleging charges of ‘revenge pornography, unlawful eavesdropping, and violation of privacy.’
