As a devoted Outlander fan who has weathered storms of love, loss, and time travel alongside Jamie and Claire for years, I can’t help but feel a mix of excitement and anticipation as we approach the return of our beloved series. The titles of the upcoming episodes promise a rollercoaster ride through the pages of Diana Gabaldon’s enchanting saga – from “Unfinished Business” to “A Hundred Thousand Angels.
We’ve waited over a year now since the last episode of “Outlander”; the first part of season 7 concluded back in August 2023, and the second half kicks off in November. Starz is getting ready for this exciting event. To begin with, they unveiled the titles for all the upcoming episodes. Here they are:
- Episode 9: “Unfinished Business”
- Episode 10: “Brotherly Love”
- Episode 11: “A Hundredweight of Stone”
- Episode 12: “Carnal Knowledge”
- Episode 13: “Hello, Goodbye”
- Episode 14: “Ye Dinna Get Used to It”
- Episode 15: “Written in My Own Heart’s Blood”
- Episode 16: “A Hundred Thousand Angels”
Previously on ‘Outlander’, Jamie, Claire, and Young Ian had just arrived back in Scotland from the American colonies. Given the title “Brotherly Love”, it seems that this upcoming episode may focus on Young Ian. ‘Outlander’ is well-known for its intimate scenes between Jamie and Claire Fraser, making me initially assume that “Carnal Knowledge” refers to such a scene. However, “Written in My Own Heart’s Blood” is actually the title of the eighth book in Diana Gabaldon’s ‘Outlander’ series. The majority of these upcoming episodes will be based on the seventh book, ‘An Echo in the Bone’, but they are also expected to touch upon some elements from ‘Written in My Own Heart’s Blood’.
In the upcoming premiere titled “Unfinished Business,” it seems that Jamie has some matters yet to settle with his former wife, Laoghaire. This assumption arises as Starz recently released a preview clip where Jamie discusses this specific issue with Claire, explicitly stating he has “unresolved business” with “the woman I was married to.
Over time, Laoghaire has created numerous challenges for Jamie and Claire; she even attempted to execute Claire as a witch and shot Jamie during their last encounter in the same nation. However, Claire is not alarmed by Jamie needing to meet his ex-girlfriend; given all they’ve been through together, there’s little chance of such an event causing them to split apart.
New episodes of Outlander start dropping on Friday, November 22 on Starz.
