As a long-time wrestling enthusiast who has witnessed the highs and lows of this captivating world, I firmly believe that the WWE should steer clear from re-signing Brock Lesnar. The allegations against him are far too serious to be brushed aside, and bringing him back would send a damaging message to the industry and its fans.

There’s been a lot of chatter among fans and wrestling journalists about Brock Lesnar lately. On the most recent episode of Monday Night Raw, Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins brought up the former WWE and UFC Champion, sparking speculation about his current role in the company. Since then, it’s been reported that discussions between Lesnar and the WWE are taking place, though this news is somewhat dubious. Some believe the WWE would be better off without Lesnar until any outstanding issues against him are resolved.

During the Backstage Pass Q&A, Bill Apter shared that his sources within WWE are discussing something, but he can’t confirm it definitively. Later on, WrestleVotes simply answered affirmatively, saying “Yes.

Since SummerSlam 2023, Brock Lesnar hasn’t made an appearance in the WWE. He was initially planned for both the Royal Rumble and WrestleMania events, but those plans changed when Janel Grant filed a lawsuit against Vince McMahon, John Laurinaitis, and the WWE, making severe accusations. This lawsuit is ongoing, with the latest updates given at Grant’s team’s press conference on October 15. Lesnar wasn’t explicitly named in the lawsuit, but it did mention a “former WWE and UFC Champion” – a fact later confirmed by The Wall Street Journal to be Lesnar himself. The suit claims that McMahon tried to use Grant to re-sign Lesnar in 2021, but the planned meetings never took place.

Approximately ten months on, these accusations remain unresolved. It seems illogical for the company to reintroduce him while these allegations continue to cast a shadow not just on his personal reputation, but also on the entire organization. If WWE openly welcomes back Lesnar, who is embroiled in ongoing allegations, it could send a problematic message to the wrestling industry. The company, currently under scrutiny due to being named in a lawsuit, is exerting significant effort to establish its innocence and distance itself from any individuals involved in the matter. Allowing Lesnar back while these allegations persist would contradict this stance, implying something about the company’s values, internal culture, and leadership. It could be seen as a questionable decision.

From another perspective, it’s clear that Lesnar isn’t necessary at this juncture. Our business is thriving without him, with ratings remaining robust, revenue soaring, and fan interest staying high. Neither show seems to miss him, as we have an abundance of top-tier contenders eager to challenge our champions. Moreover, the roster is brimming with promising young talent who can lay the groundwork for future triumphs. Bringing back a 47-year-old with a repetitive match style doesn’t seem beneficial when we have such vibrant possibilities at hand.

It’s crucial for professional wrestling to address and eliminate some of its more unsavory aspects. Until Brock Lesnar is cleared of the accusations against him, it wouldn’t be wise for him to return to the WWE. At this point, speculation about negotiations between him and the WWE is unwelcome, as it could lead to a decision the company shouldn’t make.
