First look at Anya Taylor-Joy’s hair transformation in new movie
As a die-hard fan of both action and transformative performances, I am absolutely thrilled about Anya Taylor-Joy’s dark-hair metamorphosis for “The Gorge”. Having already made her mark as Furiosa in the Mad Max saga, it seems she’s not done with kicking butt just yet. With the powerhouse duo of Taylor-Joy and Miles Teller joining forces under the direction of Scott Derrickson, I can hardly contain my excitement for this survival-action film.
Actress Anya Taylor-Joy has revealed a new look with dark hair for the upcoming action movie “The Gorge,” which also features Miles Teller in its cast.
The film on Apple TV+, helmed by Scott Derrickson (known for movies like “Sinister”, “Doctor Strange”, and the upcoming “The Black Phone”), tells the story of Drasa (played by Taylor-Joy) and Levi (portrayed by Teller), a pair of skilled snipers. They are assigned to maintain protection for a baffling and impregnable ravine.
Before its premiere next year, Apple TV+ recently shared the initial snapshots from the upcoming action-survival movie. The main characters are seen wearing stylish outfits and sporting darker hairstyles in these images.
The tweet from X/Twitter reads: “You’ve never witnessed a long-distance relationship quite like this one. Starring Anya Taylor-Joy and Miles Teller, here’s a sneak peek at The Gorge, set to release in 2025.” The tweet also includes three images from the movie.
Alongside Taylor-Joy and Teller, Sigourney Weaver and William Houston are part of the acting ensemble. Zach Dean, renowned for scripts like “The Tomorrow War” and the upcoming “Fast X,” is responsible for the screenplay.
Fans will need to be patient as they wait for “The Gorge” to become available on the streaming service, but Taylor-Joy has had a prosperous year following her stellar performance as the lead in “Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga.” In this film by George Miller, she took on the title character’s role in the action movie.
In a prequel to Mad Max: Fury Road, the role of Furiosa, earlier portrayed by Charlize Theron, transformed into a quest for vengeance against the malevolent Dementus, played by Chris Hemsworth. Taylor-Joy characterized her character’s odyssey as deeply harrowing.
In the initial three minutes, I was already in tears, and afterwards, I struggled to find words. Watching that was incredibly distressing for me, she reminisced, before delving into the distinctive traits of the renowned character.
Furiosa isn’t very talkative. She’s more reserved, which could be why George picked me for the role. It wasn’t until I was playing Furiosa that I realized a significant part of my career has been spent expressing myself through my eyes rather than words.
The Gorge will be released on Apple TV+ in 2025.
