The movie “The Monkey” was inspired by Stephen King’s 1980 horror short story with the same title, which appeared in his “Skeleton Crew” collection published in 1985. The director Osgood Perkins wrote the script and also directed the feature film adaptation. Notably, James Wan, known for the “Saw” series and “The Conjuring Universe,” is one of the producers for this movie.
As a gamer, I find myself at the heart of a chilling tale about me and my twin bro, Hal and Bill. After unearthing our late dad’s old toy monkey in the attic, we start noticing an unsettling pattern: people around us are meeting untimely, violent ends. Hoping to put an end to this nightmare, we decide it’s best to get rid of the cursed plaything. But lo and behold, the killings resume, forcing us to join forces once more to uncover the truth and bring a halt to the carnage.
Actor Theo James, known for “The White Lotus” and “The Gentlemen,” takes on the roles of both Hal and Bill, the twin brothers. Younger versions of these twins are played by Christian Convery, who is recognized from “Sweet Tooth.” Additionally, actress Tatiana Maslany (“She-Hulk: Attorney at Law” and “Invincible”), Elijah Wood (“Yellowjackets” and “The Lord of the Rings” trilogy), Colin O’Brien (“Wonka” and “Dear Edward”), Rohan Campbell (“Halloween Ends” and “The Hardy Boys”), and Sarah Levy (“Schitt’s Creek”) are also part of the cast.
