If you’re searching for a “bubbly, dramatic spectacle” (as referred to in the official Digital Spy review), then get ready to dive into the 1980s series “Rivals”, which will be available on streaming platforms starting from this week.
This TV series, based on the Jilly Cooper novel, boasts a stellar lineup with stars like David Tennant, Emily Atack, Nafessa Williams, Danny Dyer, and Aidan Turner. It unfolds in the fictitious county of Rutshire, hinting at its themes of passion, indulgence, and power struggles. Over the course of eight episodes, you can expect to see rivalries brewing over a local television network.
Tennant stars as Lord Tony Baddingham, controller of Corinium Television. Tony’s bitter rivalry with his neighbour, the Conservative government minister and MP Rupert Campbell-Black (Alex Hassell), threatens to shatter friendships, relationships and reputations in their wealthy Cotswolds social circle.

For all U.S. residents, the new series titled “Rivals” will be premiering on Hulu, similar to other Disney+ originals. Important note: Starting this coming Thursday, October 17th, Hulu’s subscription fees are set to increase.
