After ten years on television, Taskmaster has become known for attracting popular comedians and personalities, both from the UK and the US. Now, the Channel 4 show might be about to feature its most famous contestant yet, with reports suggesting an Oscar-winning actor is being considered.
I was so excited to hear Alex Horne talking on RadioTimes! He said they’re practically finished filming Season 22, and they’re already working on who’s going to be in the next season. It’s great to know more Taskmaster is on the way!
The show might also feature some major stars, as the comedian hinted that an Oscar winner could appear in a future season.

It’s not surprising to think of British actors when considering award winners. Over the last twenty years, many have received top honors, including Colin Firth, Eddie Redmayne, Gary Oldman, Olivia Colman, Kate Winslet, Helen Mirren, and Mark Rylance.
The next big name could be someone like Jessie Buckley or Cillian Murphy, both surprising choices, or it might be a well-known international star or a seasoned industry professional. It’s also possible the person isn’t an actor at all, but rather an acclaimed screenwriter, director, or singer.

It’s still a mystery who will appear, but fans can look forward to more strange and funny adventures when the 21st season begins on April 9th.
Kumail Nanjiani, Armando Iannucci, Joanna Page, Amy Gledhill, and Joel Dommett will star in the newest installment, joining Alex Horne and Greg Davies, who are back as co-hosts.

I heard in an interview with RadioTimes that I was pretty intimidated at first when I found out I’d be working with Armando Iannucci – the guy behind shows like The Thick of It and Veep! But honestly, after getting to know him, he was just like any other contestant on Taskmaster – totally normal and fun to work with.
Everyone knows Armando Iannucci is a brilliant comedian and a very intelligent person. But as Alex Horne pointed out, that doesn’t seem to apply on the show Taskmaster! Horne jokingly said it’s refreshing to discover Iannucci is actually quite clumsy and easily flustered. He admitted he initially found Iannucci intimidating, but quickly realized he reacts to pressure just like anyone else.
Taskmaster returns on Channel 4 on 9 April.
