As someone who has spent countless hours immersed in the world of radio broadcasting, I can confidently say that the antics of Kyle Sandilands and Jackie ‘O’ Henderson never fail to surprise me. Their daring stunt of smuggling a phone into Cassie Sainsbury’s Colombian prison cell is a testament to their unwavering dedication to getting the scoop, even if it means breaking a few rules along the way.
Kyle Sandilands and Jackie ‘O’ Henderson have admitted that they secretly brought a phone into the prison cell of drug smuggler Cassie Sainsbury in Colombia.
This week on The Kyle and Jackie O Show, the notorious figure known as ‘Cocaine Cassie’ was a guest. Before their interview began, Kyle unexpectedly disclosed a startling fact about the former convict who is currently promoting her revealing new book.
As a committed enthusiast looking back, I recall an unforgettable moment: I helped sneak a phone into a Colombian prison to secure an interview with Cocaine Cassie while she was still behind bars. Do you remember that experience, Jackie?
Instead, Jackie claims she didn’t have a conversation with the drug smuggler who was convicted in 2018 when she was incarcerated at the Bogota prison.
‘How do you not remember?’ a flabbergasted Kyle asked.
Jackie then questioned how they managed to pull off the stunt.
‘I’ll tell you in the ad break,’ said Kyle. ‘Once again, you want me to give up all my secrets.’
During her conversation with the radio broadcasters, Cassie shared more insights into the incident where she was found carrying approximately 5.8 kilograms of cocaine at Bogota’s international airport on a journey to Australia in 2017.

Upon Jackie’s query about the method used for transporting the prohibited substances, I (Cassie) admitted that I concealed the contraband within headphones.
‘They were already pre-wrapped and in gift bags,’ she admitted.
From Adelaide, a woman gained widespread attention, being known as ‘Cocaine Cassie’, and has written a memoir that shares her perspective on a harrowing tale.

She shared with NCA Newswire that she managed to survive each day in prison by staying on the favorable side of the guards.
In that context, I sometimes found it challenging to connect with my fellow inmates since I didn’t engage in conflicts with the prison guards.
‘I’ve always been a trouble-free individual, and if a search were conducted and they discovered forbidden items such as phones, it would be catastrophic. I might as well shrug my shoulders and say, “Well, what can you expect? We’re not supposed to have them. It’s their responsibility.”‘
Currently, Sainsbury resides in Adelaide alongside her Colombian companion, Tatiana, who she refers to as her “guiding force throughout it all.
Her memoir is Cocaine Cassie: Setting the Record Straight, released by New Holland Publishers.
