With the April 2nd release of the Hexi expansion for Where Winds Meet fast approaching, Everstone Studio has shared a new trailer showcasing the upcoming content. The trailer gives players a preview of new areas and gameplay features, and confirms that one of these areas will be a snowy landscape.
The new trailer, lasting over 90 seconds, initially showcases the beautiful and imaginative landscapes of Liangzhou. After a brief exploration of this new area, the trailer cuts to what looks like a challenging boss battle. This fight is fast-paced and dramatic, with the boss using powerful lightning attacks that players must avoid by dodging or blocking.
So, Everstone Studio announced that Chapter 2 is dropping on April 2nd, which is awesome! It’s going to continue right after where we left off in the first chapter, after dealing with all that crazy politics in the Jade Gate Pass desert. They haven’t said much about the story yet, but that trailer we saw did give us a sneak peek at some new faces we’ll be meeting. I’m really excited to see what happens next!
The new Hexi expansion for Where Winds Meet launched earlier this month as a free update called Home Afar, bringing the game to PC, PlayStation 5, iOS, and Android players. This expansion adds a brand-new region to explore, along with new gameplay features. Players can now learn two new Mystic Skills: Taichi, which focuses on combat, and Moonleap Morph, which helps with movement across the desert.
Players can easily unlock the Hexi expansion by finishing the Qinghe Campaign’s “Still Shore” quest and then starting the “By Lamplight” quest in the Hexi Main Chapter. This opens up a brand-new region with lots to explore, including new outfits and cosmetic items. Explorers can also collect Hexi poems, which are used to unlock the Gilt-Fin Collection – a treasure trove of recipes and items to improve your gear.
The latest update introduced a new World Boss called the Wandering Ark, which appears during sandstorms in the Straying Steed Sands. Defeating it for the first time earns you rewards like the Withered Twig hair ornament, plus items such as Echo Jades, Medicinal Tales, and the Inner Way Note: Custom Chests. You can also earn additional rewards by completing Sword Forge Challenges found in the Trials section of the game.
We really enjoyed the Hexi expansion for Where Winds Meet, and thought the first chapter was a strong beginning. It left us excited to see what happens next, including future content like the Heng Blade. If you already like the base game, we definitely recommend checking this expansion out. However, if you weren’t a fan of the original game, this probably won’t change your mind.
