As I delve into the story of Jackmaster, a name synonymous with passion, resilience, and a love for music that transcended boundaries, I find myself both saddened and inspired by his journey.

DJ Jackmaster’s heartbreaking final social media post with his family has been revealed after the Scottish musician died aged just 38 from an ‘accidental head injury’.

On a heartrending Saturday, the 12th of October, I learned the devastating news that my beloved Scottish musician had taken his last breath that very morning, in the enchanting island of Ibiza, Spain.

Friends and family posted on his Instagram account, sharing the sad news along with a picture of the record producer and a poignant message about his passing.

Previously this past summer, he shared an affectionate series of photos on Instagram, featuring his family during their travels across his birthplace, Scotland. He expressed that his heart found peace there.

He posed with his partner Kate and two children as they explored and enjoyed some delicious food.

In his post he penned in the caption: ‘Such a wicked weekend spending it all with my family, some museums / Scottish landmarks and then going to visit Loch Lomond where my mums ashes were laid.

‘Then we topped it off finally with a SEEEEERIOUS BBQ. My soul is content and then some.’

In a heartfelt and sorrowful tone, I, a devoted follower, share this news: It is with deep regret that I confirm the premature departure of Jack Revill, affectionately known as Jackmaster by many. Tragically, Jack succumbed to his injuries on the 12th of October in Ibiza, after facing complications from an unfortunate head injury sustained in an accident.

The family consisting of Kate, Sean, and Johnny is profoundly mourning. Though moved by the immense sympathy shown by friends, work associates, and followers, they humbly ask for solitude during these challenging times as they try to cope with the crushing sorrow brought on by this tragic event.

The family prefers to keep things private while they go through a tough period, yet they find solace in the fact that Revill’s musical influence continues to endure.

The caption went on to say: ‘Jack’s unwavering enthusiasm for music and his persistent efforts to explore new creative horizons with his work at Numbers label and Rubadub Records in Glasgow, where he unearthed numerous groundbreaking artists, earned him admiration and a trailblazing reputation within the electronic music scene, whether on or off stage.’

‘Through his unique ability to combine musical styles and create captivating DJ performances and compositions, he gained esteem from both colleagues and audiences worldwide. His influence on dance music will endure, leaving an everlasting mark.’

The statement was also posted to his Instagram story.

Devotees were deeply saddened by the demise of the DJ, and they swamped his comment section with heartfelt messages of affection and encouragement for his bereaved relatives.

‘RIP Jack!! You always a kind word, a smile and a mint tune. You’ll be missed,’ one penned.

Another heartbroken follower chimed in, ‘Can’t believe this. Heart broken. Thank you for all the amazing memories & inspiration Jack. This is just awful awful awful.’

A 14-year-old boy from Glasgow, Scotland discovered his passion for music when he started working at a nearby record store called Rubadub.

In the 2012 interview with Resident Advisor, Revill mentioned that since he started this job, he no longer had to purchase any records again, which was certainly one of the appealing benefits of his new position.

At that moment, he excitedly exclaimed to the media: “It was the tiny perks, such as getting priority access to promotions, that made it special.

You might need to discuss it with an experienced buyer, possibly, but you were confident that they would let you use it for a performance or a couple of days, and that was incredibly beneficial to me.

At 17, Revill was set on becoming a DJ after gaining popularity in Glasgow clubs.

For more than two decades, this acclaimed music producer has been a significant figure in the industry. In 2010, he received the Breakthrough DJ Award at DJ Mag’s Best of British Awards. Additionally, he gained notoriety for his 2014 residency at BBC Radio.

Revill documented his final performance via Instagram on September 27.
