Ferne McCann can’t contain her laughter as she shows off her skating skills for the first time at Dancing On Ice training
As a long-time fan and follower of British television, I must say that the news about Holly Willoughby’s potential return to Dancing On Ice is quite exhilarating! With her extensive experience on ITV, especially after her 14-year stint on This Morning, it seems only fitting for her to continue gracing our screens.
On a Friday in London, Ferne McCann flashed a bright smile while undergoing her initial training sessions for Dancing On Ice.
Previously known for his time on “The Only Way is Essex,” the 34-year-old wrapped himself in a cream zip-up sweater and a blue vest, paired with snug purple leggings.
She swept her brunette locks back into a ponytail and accessorised with dainty silver jewellery.
During the session, laughter spilled from Ferne as she was guided on the ice by a trainer.
On Monday’s edition of Good Morning Britain, Ferne announced her involvement, expressing her enthusiasm by saying, “I can hardly wait! This is going to be an immense test, but I’m thrilled for the dazzle and elegance that the program offers.
She admitted that while she can skate to some extent, she’s more comfortable gliding around like a penguin on ice, especially when accompanying her children at events such as Winter Wonderland.
Ferne shot to fame in 2013 when she joined the cast of The Only Way Is Essex for its ninth series.
Since then, she’s made guest appearances on Celebs Go Dating and I’m A Celebrity, ultimately placing third in the latter show.
Lately, she’s been the lead in her personal ITV show, “My Family And Me.” However, just this past week, she announced that the upcoming season of her long-standing reality series will be its last.
Over the course of 7 years, the television program, originally titled “Ferne McCann: First Time Mum,” chronicled Ferne’s pregnancy and upbringing of her first child, Sunday. The show has since spanned an impressive 13 series.
The show was retitled in 2023 when Ferne welcomed her second daughter Finty.
However, she has decided to end things after a tough choice with her businessman fiancé Lorri Haines and their six-year-old daughter Sunday, whom she shares with ex-partner Arthur Collins.
She shared with The Sunday Mirror, “The turning point came when I was asked by Sunday if they thought I was famous, as some of my friends recognized me from an advertisement.
I found myself saying something like, “I’m not sure…” This left me feeling awkward, as I didn’t want her to think she stood out in any way.
Following that, everything seemed to change drastically, prompting me to take some time to understand my emotions. It appeared to be the opportune moment for me to bring an end to things.
She mentioned that despite the fact Sunday has appeared on the program since her birth, she had seldom seen it beforehand and was previously uninformed about the circumstances – until that query posed to her.
Back in March, it became public that ITV executives have proposed an attractive offer to Holly Willoughby for her to reprise her hosting role on Dancing On Ice next year, with the aim of retaining her within their channel.
For the first time in two decades, the presenter won’t be renewing her contract for a show on the channel, creating an opportunity for her competitors to potentially recruit her.
However, The Mail on Sunday announced that the show is set to return for another season, and negotiations have begun with Holly regarding her co-hosting it along with Stephen Mulhern. This move signals to other networks to leave their prime talent untouched.
According to a reliable insider, it’s confirmed that ‘Dancing On Ice’ will return in the year 2025, with plans for Holly to take on hosting duties.
The negotiating of contracts is underway, but the leaders admire her greatly and they understand that other parties also desire to hire her. However, ITV admires her deeply and aims to maintain her as a significant figure in their company for many years ahead.
Holly genuinely enjoys the program; it significantly boosted her career from being a kids’ host to an adult TV personality. Therefore, ITV is quite optimistic that she will accept their proposal.
Reports indicate that high-ranking officials at ITV are considering other major programs for her presentation, following her departure from This Morning in October after a planned kidnapping and murder plot. It’s also been suggested that the BBC is keen on recruiting her to host additional shows due to their determination.
In the meantime, it is reported that ice skating legends Jane Torvill and Christopher Dean are extremely excited about the potential return of the show. Their tour commemorating 50 years of skating as a duo will begin immediately following the conclusion of the upcoming series next year.
One of the Olympic champions’ friends mentioned that participating in “Dancing on Ice” seems like a seamless transition into their upcoming tour, which has made them eager to come back next year. Everything appears to be falling neatly into place for them.
