On an episode of “The Graham Norton Show”, Gatwa revealed that preparations are underway to shoot the third season (which would be the 16th season of the series as a whole).

In the Christmas special, actress Nicola Coughlan from Bridgerton appears as Joy. Her quiet, solitary holiday in London takes an unexpected turn into a wild, exciting escapade when she crosses paths with The Doctor.

In the upcoming new year, Gatwa along with his co-star Millie Gibson (portraying Ruby Sunday), will not be alone in the TARDIS anymore, as Varada Sethu from ‘Andor’ is set to join as a fresh companion.

Previously, Sethu made an appearance on “Doctor Who” this year in the episode titled ‘Boom’, portraying the character Mundy Flynn. However, he is now set to take on a regular role as Belinda Chandra in upcoming projects.
