dreamHaven Studio, a development team with ex-Blizzard professionals, recently revealed their new project – Sunderfolk. This is an upcoming local multiplayer strategy-based fantasy journey set for release in 2025, intended to emulate the top tabletop games experience.
With a focus on fostering “mindful” collaboration, teamwork, creativity, and camaraderie, Sunderfolk offers an immersive shared-screen adventure. This journey will lead your group from the picturesque town of Arden, venturing across lush landscapes, mines, and mazes known as the Sunderlands. Along the way, you’ll meet diverse personalities, uncover hidden truths, and devise strategic plans to defeat adversaries together.
In this game, there’s an interesting twist – just like in Jackbox games, you’ll control the action using your phone or tablet instead of a traditional controller. You can manage your inventory, use card-based items and skills, interact with merchants and NPCs, and even fight monsters, all from the convenience of your mobile device.
The announcement states that Sunderfolk offers a simplified approach to conventional tabletop gaming, eliminating complex setup, rulebooks, and materials. This streamlined option makes playing and enjoying each other’s company more effortless than ever before.
