As a gamer, I’ve got to admit, I’m feeling quite frustrated and aggravated lately. It seems like there are countless NPCs (non-player characters, for those not familiar with gaming lingo) who give me a hard time in real life. From the jerks on public transport, to the unsupportive colleagues at work, and even the bullies from high school, it feels like they’re all part of an endless level I can’t seem to beat.

As she’s continually driven closer and closer to a critical limit, Rhiannon feels compelled to reevaluate her life. In an effort to heed her father’s counsel and become more self-assured, she embarks on a path that unexpectedly veers into a rather grim direction.

One Man’s Opinion of Sweetpea

It’s possible that many of us have experienced feelings of intense anger towards someone who has wronged us. But what if these angry feelings persist and accumulate? What if they’re compounded by a series of setbacks that make us feel powerless, isolated, and enraged? In such cases, we might find ourselves resembling the character Rhiannon to some extent.

In this show, the main character isn’t exactly a saint, but we grow to empathize with Rhiannon, who is constantly mistreated by those around her. As the pilot progresses, Rhiannon reaches her breaking point and eventually snaps. The pilot ends here, setting up the rest of the series.

As a fan, this new series seems to have a unique feminine spin on the Dexter-like theme. It’s still unclear if it will delve as deeply into dark territories as its predecessor.
