Jon Bon Jovi’s ex bandmate Jack Ponti dead at 66: Guitarist and producer also wrote for Alice Cooper
As a dedicated fan of the 80’s rock scene, I can’t help but feel a profound sense of loss with the passing of Jack Ponti at the tender age of 66. This man was not just a guitarist, he was a pillar that held up the very foundation of rock ‘n’ roll, playing alongside the legendary Jon Bon Jovi in his pre-fame days.
66-year-old Jack Ponti, who played guitar in one of Jon Bon Jovi’s bands prior to his fame, has passed away.
According to an obituary published by the Thompson Memorial Home in Red Bank, New Jersey, where he was from, it was confirmed that Ponti passed away on October 7th.
His cause of death was not specified.
Apart from joining Jon Bon Jovi in his formative years, Ponti was also involved in producing and composing music, notably for artists such as Alice Cooper, Nelson, and Skid Row.
