As a lifestyle expert with a keen eye for personal narratives and a deep appreciation for resilience, I am thrilled by Lionel Richie‘s decision to pen a tell-all memoir. This book promises an intimate, candid account of his nearly six-decade-long career, from the painfully shy college student grappling with ADHD at Tuskegee Institute during the civil rights movement to the world-class entertainer and composer of love songs we all cherish.

Lionel Richie plans to release a tell-all memoir about his legendary nearly six-decade-long career.

As a lifestyle connoisseur, I’m thrilled to share that my upcoming book, still without a title, promises to be a heartfelt, introspective journey – a deeply personal and candid account of my life experiences.

Richie, aged 75, is a celebrated musician who has won an Oscar, Grammy, and Golden Globe for his songwriting skills. He also serves as a judge on American Idol.

As an ardent admirer, I’m eagerly sharing this: The singer behind “Endless Love” aims to ignite hope in those questioning themselves or believing their dreams are insignificant, by penning down the valuable insights gleaned from his extraordinary journey of success against all odds.

Richie, who was seen with his 34-year-old girlfriend at Spago more recently, has evolved from being a painfully shy individual struggling with ADHD, to becoming an exceptional performer and creator of heartfelt love songs that have resonated deeply in our lives as if they were the soundtrack.

Lionel is also the father to daughters Nicole and Sofia Richie.

Richie explained that he considers himself ‘the reluctant hero of my own story,’ per People.

The memoir starts off when Richie was attending college at Tuskegee Institute in Alabama during the peak of the civil rights movement, and delves into his experiences as part of The Commodores band, eventually moving on to chronicle his rise to fame as a solo artist in the 1980s.

In his statement, Richie expressed that during his global travels, what people seem to truly desire to hear is, “You are loved.

As a devoted follower, I express my unwavering affection, for ‘I adore you transcends time.’ And when we recognize our diverse backgrounds, yet understand that we’re all branches of humanity’s global family tree… That moment of clarity, we will undeniably stand united, bound together, as one entity.

According to Judith Curr, President and Publisher of HarperOne Group, Lionel Richie is more than just a music legend; he’s been a bridge connecting various cultures and generations for a long time. During this time, he has observed and contributed to significant changes in history and entertainment while collaborating with some of the era’s most influential artists.

She stated, “We’re excited to offer not just an in-depth, emotive account of his life experiences, but also his perspective on the world – the aspects that have evolved and those that have stayed constant, the challenges and the moments worth celebrating.

The artist famed for hitting the right notes will share about a challenging time in his life which he terms his “most difficult phase” – including the loss of his father, two contentious divorces, and an injury to his vocal cords that came close to taking away his ability to sing.

Additionally, he penned down his experiences detailing the shifts in the music world that posed challenges for him. Consequently, this journey eventually culminated in him assuming the role of a judge on American Idol.

According to the publisher, Richie will describe his journey that led to this tale being told – a journey that saw him soar to greater heights, thanks to what appears to be divine intervention, and which tells one of the most remarkable tales of renewal and revitalization.

Richie’s memoir will be released on September 30, 2025 and is available for pre-sale now.

Richie and Luke Bryan recently welcomed the American Idol winner, Carrie Underwood to the show.

He explained to E! News in August, “It fits perfectly well,” he said. “She isn’t someone new we need to adjust to. Plus, her backstory is compelling – she hails from American Idol.

Lionel went on saying, “What an excellent judge, now we can stop expressing, ‘We understand your emotions.’

As artists, we can empathize with your experiences, but unlike you, she has had the opportunity to participate in the show known as ‘American Idol’.
