Miranda Hart, 51, reveals she BROKE UP with her husband just before he popped the question – as she admits she had always believed her ‘hope for finding love was very, very slim’
As a lifestyle expert with a keen eye for life stories and a soft spot for romantic tales, I must say that Miranda Hart’s journey to love is nothing short of inspiring. At 51, she found her soulmate amidst the challenges of life, proving that it’s never too late to find happiness. Her candid confessions about her doubts and fears make her story relatable and endearing, reminding us all that everyone has their own struggles and insecurities.
Miranda Hart disclosed that she ended her relationship with her husband prior to his planned proposal at Kew Gardens.
This week, the comedian took fans by surprise as she revealed she’d tied the knot at the age of 51. However, she’s recently confessed that her relationship hasn’t been without its difficulties.
In her recently published book titled “I Haven’t Beent Entirely Honest With You”, author Miranda admitted that there was a brief period when she separated from her spouse due to the strong belief that her chances of finding love were extremely slim.
She confessed that she yearned deeply for love within a romantic connection, someone who genuinely understood her, yet her optimism about finding such a person was extremely low.
But even after meeting her building surveyor husband when he came to fix a mould problem in her £2million home, Miranda took a step back from commitment, before deciding: ‘I didn’t need to run away.’
In a surprising twist, despite my vulnerability, I carried an air of dignity. I revealed to him various aspects of myself – the goofy side, the cranky side, the awkward side, the raw and unadorned side, the emotional side, the contemplative side – all sides that are not usually on display. Yet, I wholeheartedly believed he was there because he truly appreciated me.
On “The One Show” on Tuesday evening, the authentic Bridget Jones shared that she got married to her building inspector this year when she was 51 years old. The proposal took place in Kew Gardens, located in West London.
In her latest book titled “I Haven’t Been Completely Honest With You,” the humorist has chosen to keep his real identity hidden, referring to him as either ‘The Boy’ or ‘The Mysterious Mold Man.’
The man, who she met when he came to fix a mould problem in her £2million home, is described as ‘salt-and-pepper greying hair look on a fine featured man’.
On The One Show Tuesday evening, the comedian officially revealed that she’s now married, putting an end to weeks of speculation about her marital status.
51-year-old Miranda shared with Alex Jones and Alex Scott that she is now married, expressing ‘someone has placed a wedding ring on my finger’, after meeting her soulmate at the age of 49.
In her memoir, the actress described in depth the moment her boyfriend proposed. She mentioned that he proposed on a typical January day by suggesting they take a stroll through the gardens instead.
On the bridge overlooking the tranquil lake, we found ourselves standing motionless, until a moment of quiet was broken by him uttering in a serious tone, “Miranda.” As I turned to face him, he knelt down on one knee. “Miranda,” he continued.
I can’t recall anything else due to an unexpected bout of tears that interrupted our conversation, it seems I may have hastily agreed before he had completed his thought (which could have been quite awkward, especially if he was in the middle of tying his shoe laces…)
She emotionally penned: ‘I didn’t think a traditional proposal would affect me so.
However, I found someone who saw through my foolishness and flaws, yet chose to stoop low, gaze upon me with kindness, and promise to love and support me unwaveringly for the entirety of his days.
Later on, Miranda characterized her spouse as caring, affectionate, and a real joy to be around. However, she emphasized with flair, ‘He is not my boyfriend; he is my husband. We tied the knot when I turned fifty-one.’
During her exciting announcement on The One Show, she gushed: ‘I’m married, I got married at 51 and it’s just so lovely!’
She had previously requested Tom Ellis to play Miranda on screen, and it wasn’t until she was 49 years old that she found ‘her person.’ Despite this revelation, she emphasized that she would maintain the anonymity of her husband.
‘There’s a subtle theme running through the book; I won’t disclose our meeting story as it adds an element of surprise. By the way, he’s my dearest friend, we shared countless joyous moments together, and I feel incredibly blessed to be marrying at 51 years old.’
The actress expressed her wish for readers of her book to find hope within her love story. She elaborated, “Discovering a companion amidst a pandemic, while battling chronic illness and being confined to bed or home… Honestly, I yearned to meet someone so deeply, I no longer wanted to face life alone.
In simpler terms, ‘Meeting someone doesn’t make my story like a romantic comedy, but it does bring a sense of optimism. No matter what your circumstances, there’s always a glimmer of hope; things can and often do change.’
Initially, whispers sparked among people as they speculated about the new man in her life when promoting her memoir. In typical fashion, she hinted cryptically, implying “I won’t confirm if there’s a love story within it…” (Indeed, there is – keep it under wraps, it’s exciting).
