Radio host Robin Bailey breaks up with boyfriend following divorce drama and the death of her two husbands
As someone who has weathered my fair share of storms and heartaches, I can truly empathize with Robin Bailey’s current situation. Having lost two husbands, one tragically to suicide, and navigating the complexities of love and relationships, she is no stranger to pain and resilience.
Radio host Robin Bailey has been hit with heartbreak once again as she has split from her Belgian beau Olivier Massart after eight months of dating.
On-air during their morning show, the radiant host of KIIS 97.3’s breakfast program, aged 54, revealed to her co-host Kip Wightman that she ended their relationship as he was going through the process of finalizing his divorce with his former partner.
Robin and Olivier found themselves in a fast-paced relationship that started following the departure of Olivier from his previous partner. However, it seems this romance didn’t withstand the strain caused by a court dispute.
Robin expressed that he’s dealing with some ongoing legal matters regarding his separation and divorce, and at this moment, he doesn’t see a suitable space for him in that situation.
‘It’s out of respect for his ex, for him, and for myself.’
In February, the loving couple started seeing each other privately, but it wasn’t until April that they made their relationship official. This happened when Robin posted a collection of heartwarming pictures from their vacation in New Caledonia on social media.
Approximately three weeks past, she surprised her co-host Kip in an unexpected manner by secretly bringing Olivier to the studio, masked, and then passionately kissed him – it’s important to note that he was referred to as ‘Waffles’ at the moment of this event.
Overwhelmed by their separation, Robin expressed that she found it impossible to move forward with Olivier, as he persisted in fighting his former partner in court.
‘It’s one of the hardest things… and I’ve been through a lot of hard stuff,’ she said.
If you truly connect with someone and find compatibility, and genuinely appreciate spending time together… however, there are aspects of them I don’t necessarily want to be involved with.
He should only approach me once he’s completely prepared, avoiding any issues that might negatively impact our bond.
In 2014, Robin’s first spouse, Tony Smart, sadly ended his life after a prolonged struggle with depression.
The pair had three sons together—Fin, 23, Lewin, 21, and Piper, 19—during their marriage.
In November 2018, Robin tied the knot with her second spouse, Sean Pickwell, following a three-year relationship.
He proposed days after he learned his liver cancer had spread to his bones, blood and other organs.
Just about a year ago, he passed away at the tender age of 56, surrounded by his wife, at their residence in Brisbane, on the morning of September 26, 2019.
