Aussie Big Brother star shows off her impressive $25m property portfolio after making millions flipping houses
As I delve deeper into Krystal’s captivating journey, I am struck by her indomitable spirit and unwavering commitment to her family and projects. Her tales of rising as early as 3:30 am, laying concrete, and managing construction sites while caring for her children are nothing short of inspiring. It’s clear that she is a woman who thrives on challenges, relishing the opportunity to make her dreams a reality.
As a seasoned lifestyle guide, I’m thrilled to share that Krystal Hipwell, famously known from Big Brother, has recently showcased an enviable collection of properties. This impressive portfolio is the result of her successful foray into house flipping, marking a significant shift in her career trajectory and amassing millions along the way.
38-year-old television personality who’s now a real estate tycoon, along with her husband Neil, a property developer, have launched a thriving enterprise constructing luxurious homes. Their impressive portfolio includes a $25 million real estate empire.
They recently bought a huge block of land in Byron Bay and have built two modern, multi-million homes on the site, with both the lavish rental homes now open for bookings.
On Thursday, Krystal shared some behind-the-scenes details about the building and refurbishment on Instagram, offering her followers a peek at the beautiful coastal retreats she’s working on.
The “Banks at Byron” accommodation sits at the front of the property and can accommodate as many as 18 visitors. A two-night stay here typically costs more than $5,550, as indicated on their official website.
Simultaneously, Bunker Byron resides at the rear end of the property, accommodating up to 14 visitors. A three-night stay at this location typically amounts to approximately $7,000.
As a lifestyle connoisseur, I’d delightfully recommend these elite accommodations. They offer an opportunity for large groups to reserve them collectively for a grand getaway, or you can savor the experience individually. Either way, you’ll be treated to a lavish peek at Byron Bay’s stunning coastline, ensuring an unforgettable stay.
Two distinct accommodation choices are offered: Banks with its classic seaside-style décor featuring white and beige accents, and Bunker, boasting an industrial aesthetic that stands out.
A bank that recently opened in July offers seven comfortable guest rooms, six modern bathrooms, and a spacious kitchen complete with a wine cooler capable of holding approximately 178 bottles.
This place offers additional luxurious features such as a barbecue area, a fireplace, a heated outdoor pool, a 4-person infrared sauna, and a space for two cars in the garage.
Additionally, it boasts a yoga studio and an electric car charging station, making it an ideal destination for wellness enthusiasts and coastal travelers alike.
The bunker offers a comparable level of opulence, boasting five bedrooms and six guest restrooms, along with a generously-sized circular stone tub in the master suite.
Additionally, there’s a cozy private studio with its dedicated access, mini-kitchen, and private bathroom, available for separate booking at approximately $1,500 for a duration of two nights.
This expansive living quarter, characterized by its modern, open-concept layout, features a recessed seating zone capable of accommodating as many as 22 people, transforming it into an ideal venue for social gatherings.
This expansive property boasts a complete kitchen setup and an outdoor dining area, covered for your comfort, which includes a barbecue grill installed on site.
Additionally, it boasts an open-air shower, a warm swimming pool, a wooden sauna with barrel design, as well as an ice plunge bath. Furthermore, there’s a yoga and fitness center available for your use, all nestled within a lavish setting.
I’ve been absolutely thrilled as I’ve been following every step of Krystal’s incredible renovation journey on Instagram! This week, she’s been giving us sneak peeks into the nitty-gritty details of the lengthy construction process through her Stories.
I can’t help but share my incredible tale – I, along with my devoted partner Neil and our amazing brood of Sunny, nine, and Nakoda, five, made a house out of hard hats and blueprints! Yes, you heard it right, we resided on the very construction site where we brought to life two grand residences.
She described how they resided in a caravan during the construction period, and she went into detail about her active role in overseeing the renovation work.
In 2006, when Krystal gained popularity from Big Brother Australia, she posted images and clips showing her working with cement and assisting construction crews on-site.
She confessed that she would start working as early as 3.30am before her kids woke up and said she has never been so ‘exhausted’ in her entire life.
Additionally, she disclosed that she personally selected all the interior designs for both houses, admitting that she prefers to maintain control and handle the tasks herself rather than delegating them to someone else.
Krystal openly acknowledged that life on the construction site could be overwhelming at times, giving a peek into their improvised garage living arrangement.
She shared that things could get quite hectic at times, yet looking back, we created numerous precious family moments here.
Perhaps because I spent a considerable part of my youth residing in a trailer, it might explain why it always felt like home.
Regardless of the obstacles, Krystal expressed that it was worthwhile for her kids to witness the effort put into the houses and appreciate the final outcomes.
Krystal and her husband Neil haven’t embarked on their first major home renovation project; they’ve already completed one – the launch of Bunker House in Gerrigong, NSW, which happened in 2021.
Originally designed and constructed as their ideal residence following a $1.7 million land purchase, this grand multi-story building now serves as an opulent rental property capable of hosting up to sixteen guests.
Apart from their initial lodging, Krystal and Neil own another resort-style accommodation situated near the Perisher Valley ski village, specifically in Crackenback, New South Wales Alps.
In 2021, this structure was crafted by the pair and affectionately named ‘Jimmy Doo’. It is spacious enough to comfortably house 22 grown-ups and eight young ones.
Following the end of her stint in reality TV, Krystal is currently handling projects within Neil’s thriving property design and construction business, Futureflip.
