Who should you go for between Linnea, Chasca, Neffer, and Lauma in Genshin Impact Version 6.5 banners

The new characters – Linnea, Chasca, Neffer, and Lauma – available in Genshin Impact’s Version 6.5 banner make choosing who to get a bit tricky. The best choice depends on what your team needs right now and what you’re planning for in the future. While each character is strong in their own way, some will be more helpful immediately and in the long run than others.

Here’s a breakdown to help you decide.

1. Linnea

Linnea is a new 5-star Geo character in Genshin Impact who uses a bow. She’s designed as a support character, excelling as both a damage dealer and a healer, and works best in teams focused on the Lunar-Crystallize playstyle. Linnea can lower enemies’ Geo resistance by 30% with her abilities. She also provides healing and an Elemental Mastery boost to the whole team, with the strength of these effects scaling based on her Defense stat.

She can inflict Geo damage even when she’s not actively in battle, and she changes Hydro Crystallize into Lunar Crystallize. Her gameplay is comparable to Escoffier’s, so it’s best to get prepared beforehand using our Linnea Pre-Farm Guide.

2. Chasca

Chasca is a powerful 5-star character in Genshin Impact who uses a bow and specializes in dealing Anemo damage as your main damage dealer. Her unique gameplay revolves around her Elemental Skill, which introduces the ‘Nightsoul’ mechanic – a feature also seen in characters from the upcoming region of Natlan. This allows her to fly and boosts her abilities. While she’s an Anemo character, she actually deals damage using a variety of different elements.

She’s effective as your primary damage dealer using Pyro, Hydro, Cryo, or Electro. Even without a dedicated support team, she can still succeed in challenging content if your team focuses on using a variety of elements.

3. Neffer

Nefer is a powerful 5-star character in Genshin Impact who specializes in dealing damage with Dendro energy. She’s a main damage dealer, meaning she’s meant to be on the field consistently attacking enemies. Nefer excels at creating large-area Dendro damage using her Elemental Burst and a particularly strong charged attack called Lunar Bloom. When you use her Elemental Skill, she enters a state called Shadow Dance, allowing her to unleash even more devastating Lunar Bloom damage with her charged attacks.

4. Lauma

Okay, so I’m super excited about Lauma! She’s a 5-star Dendro Catalyst user in Genshin Impact, and from what I’ve seen, she’s built to be the best support for Bloom teams. Basically, she makes Bloom teams way more powerful and reliable. Her whole deal revolves around these cool new things called Lunar Bloom and Verdant Dews – they’re unique mechanics that really amp up the damage output. I can’t wait to try her out!

Her special ability summons a deer that constantly applies Dendro to enemies in a certain area and weakens their Dendro and Hydro defenses – a very useful combination. Holding down the ability button lets her use collected Verdant Dews to create a powerful Lunar Bloom attack that gets stronger with her Elemental Mastery and can even deliver critical hits, bypassing enemy defenses.

Her special attack is very powerful, applying stacks called Pale Hymns. These stacks increase damage from any reaction involving Bloom. Each stack adds a fixed amount of damage to Bloom reactions, making abilities like Hyperbloom and Burgeon much more effective.

Should You Pull Chronicle Banner Characters

The Fontaine Chronicle banner is returning in Version 6.5, and it’s definitely worth considering a pull! This time around, you can wish for Emilie, Navia, Clorinde, Lyney, and Sigewinne – all limited-time characters. If you’re deciding who to get, Emilie, Navia, and Clorinde are the strongest recommendations. Here’s why you should consider adding them to your team:

Emilie

Emilie is a powerful Dendro support character who excels at dealing extra damage. She significantly boosts the damage of teams focused on Burning or Burgeon reactions. If you’re building a team around those reactions or already have Kinich, Emilie is a character you’ll definitely want to add to your team.

Chlorinde

Chlorinde is a character who fights directly on the field, dealing Electro damage. Currently, her damage output isn’t as high as some other Electro characters. However, she still performs very well in teams focused on Aggravate or Hyperbloom reactions. If you own Nahida, she’s a great character to consider.

Navia

Navia is a powerful 5-star character who deals Geo damage. What makes her special is her flexibility – she can be played as your main damage dealer or support from the sidelines. Linnea further enhances Navia’s abilities. If you’re looking for a strong Geo damage character and don’t have Zibai, Navia is a great choice.

Who should you pull in Version 6.5 to make your team future-proof in Genshin Impact

Phase 1

Both Chasca and Linnea are excellent choices for the future. If you already have a strong Geo damage dealer, Linnea is a great pick. However, if you’re looking for a versatile main damage dealer who doesn’t require a lot of resources to get started, Chasca is the better choice.

Phase 2

Nefer and Lauma work best as a pair. Nefer’s damage significantly drops without Lauma, and Lauma performs optimally when teamed with Nefer. It’s generally best to acquire both characters or neither.
