As a die-hard Justin Timberlake fan who has followed his career since the ‘N Sync days, I must admit that I was quite disheartened to hear about the sudden postponement of his Newark show due to an injury. I’ve been to several of his concerts, and they are always electrifying experiences that leave me wanting more.

Justin Timberlake unexpectedly delayed his concert scheduled for Tuesday in Newark, New Jersey, due to an injury he stated was hindering him from giving a performance.

Approximately an hour before the scheduled start of the event, the singer known for “Selfish” and “Cry Me a River,” expressed regret at not being able to meet his fans and is currently making arrangements to rearrange the show at the earliest opportunity.

He wrote on Instagram, “I assure you I’ll compensate for this and deliver the show that you truly deserve. Thank you for your patience. Your support is greatly valued and always appreciated.

43-year-old Timberlake refrained from sharing specifics regarding his recent injury, and at the time of The Times’ query on Wednesday, his representatives had yet to provide a response.

Disillusioned spectators voiced their disappointment by commenting on the post, expressing their annoyance at the last-minute announcement and accusing Ticketmaster of failing to provide any information regarding the rescheduling. One supporter humorously remarked, “This is going to mess up the tour,” referencing Timberlake’s reported statements to police during his arrest in June.

I shared a message from the singer at 5:45 PM, just an hour before our evening performance was due to start, and just as the venue doors were about to open. He’s slated to perform in Philadelphia on Friday, but it remains uncertain if his injury will also cause him to cancel that show.

10-time Grammy-winning artist embarked on a tour titled “Forget Tomorrow World” in April, following the release of his sixth studio album, “Everything I Thought It Was,” in March. This tour brought him to perform at the Kia Forum in Inglewood in May.

Despite Justin Timberlake’s DWI arrest in June in the Hamptons due to accusations of running a stop sign or swerving off his lane after leaving a late-night dinner, the tour continued. In September, he was convicted of a reduced charge for impaired driving and received a sentence that included 25 hours of community service at an organization of his preference, a $500 fine with an additional $260 surcharge, and a mandate to create a public safety announcement highlighting the risks of impaired driving.

Following his sentencing, the musician unveiled plans for extra performances on his 2025 concert series, including three dates in California: Sacramento, Anaheim, and Palm Springs in January. The tour will conclude in Kansas City, Missouri, on December 20th.

Live Nation, the concert organizer, announced additional shows on the tour because of overwhelming fan interest, and so far, over a million tickets have been sold worldwide.
