As a die-hard fan of The Inbetweeners, I must admit that my heart skipped a beat when I heard the news about a possible reunion. However, after years of following the lives and careers of these talented comedians, I’ve learned to take their words with a grain of salt.

Fans were left giggling due to the amusing collection of vacation pictures that James Buckley shared, taken during his visit to Rome.

In the photos, the 37-year-old actor seemed to embody his iconic role as Jay Cartwright from The Inbetweeners, giving off a melancholic demeanor.

In a snapshot outside the Colosseum, James appeared unhappy, wearing a pastel yellow zip-up T-shirt featuring red and black stripes and coordinating shorts.

In another picture, the celebrity wore a distinct, sunny-hued yellow shirt and a black Adidas bucket hat, while striking a blank-faced pose beside a platter of eggs Benedict and a teacup.

In the next photo, Jay was seen standing discontentedly in the stone-paved plaza before the grandiose Pantheon, gesturing towards it with a backwards point of his finger.

He finished the photo album with a snap oh himself in a restaurant with a plate of carbonara in front of him, holding a stein of beer and looking very sad.

The comedian captioned the post: ‘Went to Rome to cheer myself up’ and the sarcastic Instagram post left Inbetweeners fans chuckling.

However, although James’ humorous post was well-received by his followers, it caused quite a laugh among The Inbetweeners fans when those pictures got noticed by the Instagram account known as Archbishop of Sarcasm.

The meme account turned the actor’s pictures into a hilarious joke, captioning their post: ‘When your mum insists on taking pictures on holiday’.

Many joked about the actor in the comments section, mimicking the teenager’s well-known phrases, while others noted that the celebrity seemed visibly upset.

One fan even likened James to Karl Pilkington, the presenter and comedian who rose to fame after starring opposite Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant on their Xfm radio show.

Since then, he’s amassed a large following due to his work on several spin-offs like An Idiot Abroad and The Ricky Gervais Show.

One fan wrote: ‘It’s giving Carl Pilkington’.

While another wrote: ‘He’s mad at what his mum dressed him in!’.

As an ardent admirer, I couldn’t help but join in on the fun by echoing some of Jay’s clever quips from The Inbetweeners, like his famous retort: “Rome? Finished that, mate.

Fans of The Inbetweeners likely felt relieved with a dose of humor, as they had been saddened by the sad news about a possible new movie from Simon Bird, one of James’ co-stars, which he shared last month.

The 40-year-old actor shared that, following three TV series and two movies, there’s currently no talk of getting the group back together anytime in the near future.

He made the shocking announcement in an exclusive interview with TopMob and revealed that he was ‘pouring cold water’ on fan speculation that the cast would be getting back together.

Simon said: ‘I’m afraid to be the one pouring cold water on this but it’s not happening.

‘I can tell you emphatically that there are no prospects of a reunion.’

It was made clear that although the cast were eager to slip back into their roles, the decision wasn’t in their hands.

Simon mentioned that while they’re open to it, the decision ultimately lies with writers Iain and Damon, who are quite occupied at the moment.

‘It’s not more likely to happen now than it was ten years ago I’m afraid.

In a prior conversation, I stirred up quite the buzz on social media when I expressed my belief that a certain comedy, which was popular during its time, might not be produced today. However, I must admit, I’m not entirely convinced of this assertion myself.

‘So no there have been no discussion about a new show or film.’
