As a dedicated follower of Katie Price’s life journey, I can’t help but feel a pang of empathy every time I see her face another hardship. The woman has been through more than most could ever imagine, and yet she continues to pick herself up, dust herself off, and carry on with grace and resilience that is truly inspiring.
It was reported that Katie Price was involved in an accident during her vacation, as photographs emerged of her in a wheelchair with a bandaged foot in Cyprus on Wednesday.
In 2020, a former model who is now 46 years old suffered broken bones in both feet when she fell from a height of 25 feet off a wall while vacationing in Turkey. After several operations aimed at repairing the damage, she found herself unable to walk for a period of six months.
Exiting the hospital, Katie was guided by her partner JJ Slater, aged 32, following an incident where she slipped on a stone.
Even though she was still attired for the beach, she donned a deep-necked two-piece swimsuit, while her hair was gathered high up in a neat ponytail.
JJ put on a white tank top, paired it with gray shorts and sneakers, and wore sunglasses to protect his eyes from the sun.
Even though she underwent an eight-hour surgery due to an accident in August 2020, Katie continues to experience persistent discomfort and is frequently spotted with moon boots. However, she seems to be making progress towards recovery as of late.
Regarding the incident from February 2021, Katie openly acknowledged that she was experiencing persistent discomfort and moved about as if she were a waddling duck, only managing to walk for a maximum of 20 minutes daily.
In my own words, I shared with The Sun: “I am forever changed… Now, I have a distinctive gait when I walk due to one leg being slightly longer than the other following my metal footwork – I resemble a waddling duck. This peculiarity does stir up some feelings of self-consciousness in me.
I have a disability and have received medical documentation to verify my eligibility for a handicap parking permit (blue badge). I’ve already submitted this application.
The incident took place during her vacation in Turkey with her partner at the time, Carl Woods, as well as her children Princess and Junior, who are the offspring of her previous marriage to Peter Andre.
At a Turkish theme park, she fell approximately 25 feet from a wall, managing to land safely on her feet. Later, she admitted that her biggest worry was becoming paralyzed.
Later on, she clarified that the accident had left her legs severely injured, and medical professionals informed her they needed to amputate her legs due to similar damage. She acknowledged her decision to return to The Priory was to learn how to walk once more.
After some fun and a few drinks, she leaped from what she believed was a low wall at the Land of Legends theme park. Subsequently, she underwent an eight-hour surgery to reconstruct her feet.
Discussing her injury on her YouTube channel at the time, she said: ‘Silly me, at my age, should calm things down. Basically, silly little accident.
In a hurry, I leaped over a rather low fence, taking a quicker route, but I hadn’t fully gauged its height.
It appears I’ve twisted my ankles awkwardly, causing a small fracture at the back of each heel. The local hospital suggested surgery with pin insertion, but given my current location, I prefer to wait for treatment when I return home.
‘Experiencing excruciating agony, akin to the distress I felt while attempting to apply the cast – it was unbearable! They informed me that I wouldn’t be able to walk for a period of between three and six months.’
