Olympic legend Ian Thorpe relists his luxury Sydney home on the market for $3.5million after failing to find a buyer

As a dedicated follower of Ian Thorpe‘s illustrious career and personal endeavors, I find myself captivated by his latest real estate venture. The man who graced our screens at the tender age of 17 during the Sydney Olympics, winning an astounding five medals, including three gold, now embarks on a new chapter in the upmarket suburb of Woollahra.

Australian swimmer Ian Thorpe is offering for sale his high-end residence located in the affluent neighborhood of Woollahra, with an asking price of a staggering $3.5 million.

41-year-old Olympic gold medalist bought a luxurious four-bedroom, three-bathroom townhouse in December 2017 for $2.75 million.

Previously, he had put it up for sale at $3.7 million in September of the previous year; however, despite his efforts, he couldn’t secure a buyer at that price.

In sheer awe, I stand before this enchanting, two-story abode sprawled across a generous 250 square meters. It’s a wonderland of ample living spaces, an inviting outdoor pool that beckons for a refreshing dip, and a breathtakingly beautiful tropical garden that seems to stretch endlessly, a vibrant symphony of nature right at my feet.

The property underwent comprehensive renovations by Thorpe, complete with spacious open-concept living spaces, an exquisitely redesigned terrace, and fashionable sliding glass doors.

This place is ideal for families, offering plenty of entertainment, and it’s situated in an extremely attractive area with numerous shopping options nearby.

In an interview with The Sydney Morning Herald in 2023, real estate agent Courtney Wong described the property as the “top choice” in the neighborhood, located a short distance from the main road.

‘It’s completely private and secluded,’ he added.

This remarkable place boasts a contemporary, spacious design with an open concept living area and expansive glass doors that open onto the courtyard.

From a lifestyle perspective, if you’re yearning for a secluded haven that embodies the opulence of a high-end residence, then this property surpasses even your most vivid dreams.

Nestled peacefully at the back of a quaint six-unit building, this home offers an exquisite blend of modern style and nature’s charm. Its sleek, contemporary architecture harmoniously coexists with a serene, green environment.

In November, Thorpe moved houses and spent a staggering $2.7 million on a magnificent property located in the affluent eastern districts of Sydney.

Thorpe, renowned as one of Australia’s top Olympic swimmers, bagged five gold medals.

At the age of 17, he achieved widespread recognition during the 2000 Sydney Olympics, earning a total of five medals, among which were three gold ones.
