Melissa McCarthy and husband Ben Falcone celebrate their 19th wedding anniversary: 'I'm grateful every day'

As a dedicated follower and admirer of Melissa McCarthy, I find her 19-year journey with Ben Falcone to be nothing short of inspiring. Their story, much like a classic rom-com script, unfolds beautifully – two comedy students finding love in the bustling city of Hollywood. Their bond, built on shared laughter and mutual respect, is a testament to the power of friendship and the magic that can happen when you least expect it.

On the occasion of their 19th wedding anniversary, Melissa McCarthy posted a touching message in honor of her long-term spouse, Ben Falcone.

On this memorable event, the actress aged 54 posted a charming picture featuring herself and Falcone, also 51, both dressed alike standing before a heart-shaped balloon arrangement.

In 2013, during a Valentine’s Day photoshoot for The Hollywood Reporter, an image was captured that depicted the couple excitedly raising their arms, both donning matching red sweaters adorned with heart pins, white turtlenecks, and khaki pants.

19 years ago, I felt like the most fortunate woman on earth. I’m deeply thankful each day for marrying my dearest companion and a kindred spirit in wigs! This photo captures our bond beautifully.

The Life Of The Party star’s spouse also took to Instagram to mark their anniversary.

“For 19 years, these kids have been married! On your anniversary, Mooch, I love you even more than last year. It seems that for just one timeless instant… both of us shared a fondness for vintage video games.” He posted this old photo of them smiling happily together.

This pair crossed paths when they were both studying comedy at The Groundlings Theater and School in Hollywood, and after years together, they tied the knot on October 8, 2005.

During their marriage, McCarthy and Falcone have welcomed two children.

The pair share daughters Vivian, 17, and Georgette, 14.

In the last season of Gilmore Girls, the writers included Melissa’s character Sookie St. James (played by Melissa) being pregnant with Vivian as part of the storyline. This character was a regular on the show from 2000 until 2007.

In the 2016 movie “The Boss,” Vivian and Georgette made an appearance. Their eldest child, in fact, portrayed a younger version of the character played by Melissa.

Ben often pops up in Melissa’s movies and TV shows, with his roles being seen in titles like Gilmore Girls, The Nines, Bridesmaids, The Heat, Tammy, Identity Thief, Spy, The Boss, Life of the Party, Can You Ever Forgive Me?, The Happytime Murders, and Superintelligence.

In 2021, she shared her ‘real key(s) to happiness’ include marrying her ‘weird best friend’ and having a ‘plethora of wigs in your home.’

In a recent interview for PEOPLE’s 2023 Beautiful Issue cover, McCarthy referred to her husband as someone who is “always loving, kind, and funny,” while also describing him as the most unusual person she has ever met.

She once mused, “Perhaps I might marry one day, yet not in a way that resembles family. My family consists of my mom, dad, and sister Margie, and nothing will ever match that connection. It was with Ben for the first time that I felt, ‘This could blossom.'” This is how she recollected it.
