As a devoted fan who grew up with Raven-Symoné and her extraordinary talent, I am deeply saddened by the revelations about the treatment she experienced during the production of That’s So Raven. It is heartbreaking to learn that while she was promoting body positivity onscreen, her own image was being manipulated behind the scenes.

It has been asserted in a recent publication that the executives working on the set of “That’s So Raven” manipulated digital technology to slim down Raven-Symoné’s figure during filming.

In the early 2000s, I catapulted into stardom as Raven Baxter, a character that graced our television screens from a Disney Channel sitcom. At just 15 years old, I was fortunate enough to secure this role and remained a fixture on the show for a magnificent four-year run until its conclusion in 2007.

During her later teenage years, when her weight was unstable, Dava Savel, a co-producer and writer, asserted that the show’s managers dealt with the situation poorly, a statement made not long after the actress disclosed the loss of her father.

According to Sevel, there was a great deal of excitement at Disney Channel regarding the subject matter. (Or, Disney Channel was extremely enthusiastic about it.)

‘And they handled it in really bad ways. But it was never to her face,’ Sevel added in the book.

According to information found within the book, it is claimed that an event took place in season two’s episode ‘That’s So Not Raven’. This incident involved another model being chosen for a fashion show instead of Raven, due to the latter having a fuller figure compared to her competitor.

In this particular installment, we find Raven experimenting with several diet plans, eventually discovering her unique charm lies in being absolutely herself.

After strutting down the runway, she conveyed a message promoting self-love and acceptance, despite reports suggesting that the later stages of filming were manipulated to give an illusion of slenderness.

As a die-hard fan of Ashley Spencer’s work, I can’t help but share this fascinating tidbit: it’s reported that during the making of an episode, several individuals associated with the production claimed that a Disney Channel executive instructed the visual effects team to make Raven appear thinner in the final scenes. Isn’t that mind-blowing?

Michael Feldman expressed his disappointment by saying, ‘What they did was disgraceful. I can’t fathom how they could carry it out with a clear conscience.’

What she intended to write a tale about, ended up happening to her instead. It’s astonishingly insensitive that they didn’t seem to realize this, he commented.

Previously at Disney Channel as head of original programming, Adam Bonnett recalls employing a similar method, even though it wasn’t an intention he actively sought out, during the course of the sitcom’s broadcast.

In reference to a school dance scene, he mentioned: ‘Some adjustments were made to make Raven’s outfit appear more appealing in specific shots.’

She would return as Raven in Raven’s Home, a spin-off that spanned six seasons from 2017 to 2023.

In her podcast, the actress shared that she underwent not one but two breast reduction surgeries, as well as liposuction, before reaching the age of 18.

As a devoted daughter, I was advised passionately by my father to consider reducing the size of my breasts for my comfort. He inquired tenderly, “Is there anything you yearn for, my dear?

Last year, during a candid conversation on my podcast, I confessed, “Indeed, the thought crossed my mind that if I undergo liposuction, it might make others stop labeling me as overweight.
