Cast of comedy blockbuster reunite at Comic Con 33 years after hit film was released – can you guess who they are?
As an obsessed fan of The Addams Family, I can barely contain my excitement! Seeing the cast reunite after all these years is like a dream come true. It’s incredible to see how much they’ve grown and yet, they still embody their iconic characters so perfectly.
30-plus years after the initial release, members of the original cast for “The Addams Family” movie gathered at Comic Con in Los Angeles on a recent Monday.
At the event, Carel Struycken, known for his role as Lurch, Jimmy Workman (Pugsley), Christopher Lloyd (Uncle Fester), Anjelica Huston (Morticia), and Christina Ricci (Wednesday) all gathered together for a photograph.
Sharing the pics online, Christopher wrote: ‘The family that haunts together, stays together.’
The Addams Family is a fictional family created by American cartoonist Charles Addams.
The Addams family comprises Gomez and Morticia Addams, along with their children Wednesday and Pugsley, extended relatives like Uncle Fester and Grandmama, their household staff such as Lurch the butler, and Pugsley’s unique pet, Aristotle the octopus.
Prior to his role in The Addams Family, Christopher had previously earned significant accolades and was recognized for portraying Dr. Emmett Brown in the Back to the Future movie series.
Instead of portraying his character, Uncle Fester, on stage, he appeared completely different, as if light-years apart, while speaking to his admirers.
The stunning and mysterious Morticia Addams was played by Anjelica, 73, who hasn’t changed since appearing in the film.
The actress accumulated numerous accolades throughout her career, appearing in notable performances such as Maerose Prizzi in Prizzi’s Honor and Miss Ernst in The Witches.
Former child star Christina, 42, was just 11 when she played the iconic character Wednesday.
Since then, she’s been featured in films like “Now and Then,” “Sleepy Hollow,” “Penelope,” and most recently, “The Matrix Resurrections” from last year.
Back in the day, I discovered this quirky comic strip called “The Addams Family” and instantly fell head over heels for it. Over time, its popularity skyrocketed until it transformed into an unforgettable television sensation, long before the silver screen adaptation graced us in 1991.
The sequel, Addams Family Values, came out two years later.
There is also a Netflix spin-off, called Wednesday, which launched in 2022.
This May, Netflix revealed that production on the second season of “Wednesday” has started, with several notable British actors joining the ensemble.
The live-stream broadcaster posted on social networks a clip displaying an object called Thing speeding down a passage while hauling a cart brimming with scripts.
A floating hand glides past doors labeled with famous TV show cast members, distributing scripts along the way, until it reaches Jenna Ortega’s door, where it performs the iconic snap gesture.
On Wednesday, Jenna greets with a grin, taking the script while saying, “Well, hello Misery. More torment is on its way.
On the opening page, it’s announced that the title for the season two opener is ‘Here We Woe Again’. This episode has been penned by the series architects, Alfred Gough and Miles Millar, with Tim Burton returning to take the director’s chair.
