As a lifestyle expert with years of experience observing reality television dynamics, I must say that watching The Block Australia unfold is always an exciting journey. However, this week’s episode between Grant Freeman and builder Jack from House One has left me somewhat perplexed and amused.
On Monday evening, it was noticeable that tension escalated between Grant Freeman and the builder from House One, Jack.
Thirty-year-old Grant made an attempt to secretly swipe from one of the Venetian plasterers employed by Maddy and Charlotte Harry, but their contractor, Jack, strongly disapproved of such unscrupulous behavior.
The carpenter firmly declined any cooperation with House Two, as Grant and partner Courtney McInnes had refused assistance to the girls the day prior.
In my role as a devoted follower, I discovered myself in a predicament the day prior, as one of our tradespeople was missing the necessary insurance documents, leaving us a plasterer short.
When he was barred from entering the construction site, the women hurriedly found a substitute, asking Grant and Courtney, aged 31, if they could temporarily loan one of their skilled plasterers.
Instead of helping their neighboring sisters, the couple chose not to assist, yet Foreman Dan intervened and rescued the situation by bringing in a plasterer he was acquainted with.
Courtney subtly proposed the idea to the plasterer, secretly asking him to work for her and Grant rather than Maddy and Charlotte, without their knowledge, in order to obtain an estimate from him.
When questioned by producers, Grant and Courtney claimed that the sisters had given them authorization to employ their plasterer; however, the girls asserted that they had not granted such permission.

Grant admitted that he aided the girls during their initial week on the show by providing them with one of his plasterers, but it turned out this assistance was not genuine shortly afterwards.
The producers then replayed footage from Grant’s initial week, where he declined to aid the girls who found themselves stranded without suitable craftsmen for help.
‘It’s not how it works. Get your own plasterers,’ Grant told producers at the time.
After three weeks, Grant and Courtney declined to assist the girls once more when they were in dire need of another plasterer.
Yet, it appeared as though they had no qualms about attempting to steal the work from them once they managed to secure a new craftsperson instead.

Suddenly, Grant shifted his stance on sharing trades, stating that if the sisters were not comfortable with him utilizing their plasterer, it was simply unfortunate and they did not have exclusive ownership over trades.
Jack, the builder who happened to be Maddy and Charlotte’s carpenter friend that they brought in during their stay on The Block, had every reason to feel aggrieved by the inconsistency he encountered.
He expressed his disbelief, saying, “Yesterday, they refused to assist us, but now they need our aid? That’s simply unacceptable.
‘Charlotte, it’s important to note that only our team of Venetian plasterers are allowed to work on our projects. Once their task is completed, we kindly ask that no one else be assigned to the project – we’re simply saying “no” to additional help.’
The Block will return on Tuesday at 7:30pm on Channel Nine and 9Now.
